Abstract

Corona virus is a virus that can cause disease in the respiratory tract, which can develop to be more severe and can cause death. This virus quickly spreaded so that in March 2020 Covid-19 was declared as a pandemic. The implementation of health protocols is one of the most effective ways to reduce the spread of the corona virus. This study aims to find out how respondents get information about health protocols and how the implementation of health protocols is carried out by the community during the covid-19 pandemic. This research is a quantitative research with descriptive method. A total of 266 respondents were obtained by purposive sampling technique. The results of the study indicate that social media is the most appropriate means to be used as a medium to disseminate health protocols to young people and adolescents. In addition, the implementation of health protocols is quite good for the community except in terms of limiting mobility, especially among teenagers. The role of parents, teachers and adults is needed to improve youth discipline in implementing health protocols. The implementation of health protocols such as wearing masks, washing hands, maintaining distance must be more strictly implemented if it is not possible to avoid crowds and limit social mobility.

Abstract

Patient compliance with hypertension management is important because non-adherence can lead failure to control blood pressure. This study aims to identify demographic factors and social support in relation to hypertension management adherence. This research is a non-experimental cross sectional analytic study to a population of hypertensive patients in the Temanggung region. Sampling used concecutive sampling with 100 respondents. The Adherence variable was measured using a Medical Outcomes Study (MOS) Measures of Patient Adherence and social support was measured using the Multidimensional Scale of Perceived Social Support. Data were analyzed univariately, bivariately and multivariately to determine the significance and strength of variable correlation. Research result shows a significant relationship between education level (p value = 0.014) and social support (p value = 0.013) with adherence. There was no significant correlation between age (p value = 0.982), gender (p value = 0.435) and financing (p value = 0.521) with adherence. Multivariate test results showed that social support was significantly related to adherence with p value = 0.028 at α = 0.05. Social support has an odds ratio of 5.8, which means patients with good social support have a 5.8 times chance to be more obedient.

Abstract

Triage is a clinical risk management system that is very important in helping patients in the Emergency Room. However, in the hospital there is frequent rotation or transfer of staff between units as well as promotions, so that sometimes competent and experienced nurses are replaced by other, less experienced nurses. The nurse's ability to carry out triage must also be maintained so that they are able to act properly according to the specified procedure. This study aims to determine the knowledge of Emergency unit nurses in conducting triage and to determine the effectiveness of the Australasian Triage Scale training in increasing the knowledge of emergency unit nurses in conducting triage. The research method used was quasi-experimental with a one group pre test post test design approach. Sampling was carried out using a purposive sampling technique with a total of 29 nurses as respondents. The results showed that the average level of knowledge before training was 41.03 and after training was 94.14. Data analysis using the t-test obtained the t value (11.1493) > t-tab (2.048). There is a significant relationship between triage training and the level of knowledge of ED nurses in conducting triage. Triage training for nurses can become a hospital program to maintain the quality of nurses in providing services in the Emergency Unit.

Abstract

The Chronic Disease Management Program (Prolanis) is a BPJS Health program aimed at improving the quality of life of people with chronic diseases, including Diabetes Mellitus (DM). Participant involvement is a key factor in the program’s success; however, not all participants engage optimally. This study aims to analyze the factors related to the participation of Prolanis participants with DM in the working area of Bejen Public Health Center. The study used an analytical, cross-sectional design, and the instrument used in this study was a questionnaire. The research sample consisted of all DM patients registered as Prolanis participants at Bejen Public Health Center, totaling 45 respondents, selected using the total sampling technique. The independent variables included knowledge, family support, illness perception, and perceived need, while the dependent variable was participation. Data analysis was performed using bivariate analysis with the Somers’ D test. The results showed that there was no significant relationship between knowledge and participation (p=0.164), nor between illness perception and participation (p=0.164). However, there was a significant relationship between family support (p=0.000; D=0.559) and program participation, and also between perceived need (p=0.048; D=0.351) and participation. The conclusion of this study is that family support and perceived need play an important role in improving the participation of Prolanis participants with DM. It is recommended that the health center enhance families' role in providing support and educate participants to strengthen their awareness of the importance of involvement in the program.
