Abstract

Forecasting is a method for estimating a value in the future by using past data. This research was conducted at the Home Industry Arwana Food. In this study, theauthor discusses the forecasting analysis of sales of banana chips products for packaging types. Forecasting is done using three methods, namely the Moving Averagemethod, the Exponential Smoothing with Trend method and the Trend analysis method by comparing the smallest error rate, the chosen forecasting method is the TrendAnalysis method, with the MAD value of 161.3539, MSE of 55744 , 16, and a standard error of 242,947. From the analysis of data processing that has been carried out basedon the chosen forecasting method, sales forecasting for banana chips products of packaged type is 1121,424 or 1122 packs / month, meaning that Home Industry -Surakarta Banana Chips must provide as many as banana chips. 1122 packs for each month.

Abstract

Each production facility has a risk of danger for humans when it is used, it also happens in the production of wood furniture. Therefore, it is necessary to implement occupational health and safety management to reduce the risk of workplace accidents due to the use of production facilities. CV Rimba Sentosa, one of the woodfurniture companies has written accident data as many as 23 accidents in 2016. The figure increased 5-10% compared to the previous year's accident. Based on these facts,research was conducted to identify potential work accidents and control efforts, especially in the sawmill section. The method used in this study is Job Safety Analysis (JSA).The results of data processing show that the potential hazards that can arise due to the sawing process include low back pain, hand scratched saw blades, pollution from diesel engines, wood dust, and electric shock when turning on the engine. Hazard potential control efforts can be divided into two, namely engineering controls and  controls. The form of engineering controls that can be done is by giving  a wooden push and pulling limit on the bandsaw machine, serkel, and jointer so that thehand is not exposed to the saw blade. The administrative controls that can be done are by using PPE in the form of masks, glasses, shoes, and gloves.

Abstract

Manufacturing industry is always required to carry out efficiency and effectiveness in the production system. One strategy can be done to achieve is through setting the layout of the facility. By structurizing the layout of good facilities, companies can reduce production costs without reducing the quality of the products produced. One of the companies that designs the facilities layout to increase the efficiency and effectiveness of the production system is PT. AGNA INSPIRE, manufacturer of slider frames in the Banjarsari area, Surakarta. The company plans to replace machinery and move the factory to another location. The arrangement of the machines carried out in the previous factory only considered empty space, regardless of the order of the production process. In fact, the company's production is made to stock and the arrangement of the machines should follow the order of the process. Therefore, it is necessary to design the layout of operating machinery facilities by considering thesequence of processes to minimize distance and material handling costs. The method used in determining the layout is the blockplan method. Based on the results of data processing, the proposed layout design was obtained with Material Handling Cost (OMH) of Rp. 651,000. This value is more efficient than OMH in the previous layout of Rp. 1,036,000, -
