Abstract

Natural Language Processing (NLP) plays a crucial role in enabling machines to process and understand human language. One of the fundamental tasks in NLP is Part-of-Speech (POS) tagging, which serves as the foundation for various downstream applications such as parsing, information extraction, and machine translation. However, the development of POS tagging models for low-resource languages remains a significant challenge due to the limited availability of annotated corpora. This study aims to develop a POS-tagged corpus for Bahasa Melayu Dialek Riau (BMDR) and evaluate the performance of a Hidden Markov Model (HMM) as a baseline approach for POS tagging. The dataset consists of approximately 600 sentences with around 10,000 tokens, which were manually annotated and validated using Inter-Annotator Agreement. The annotated corpus was then divided into training and testing sets with a ratio of 80:20. Experimental results show that the HMM model achieved an accuracy of 86.8%, with precision, recall, and F1-score values of 85.9%, 85.3%, and 85.6%, respectively. The results indicate that HMM remains a competitive approach for POS tagging in low-resource language settings. Error analysis reveals that lexical ambiguity, Out-of-Vocabulary (OOV) words, and limited training data are the primary factors affecting model performance. This research contributes by providing the first annotated POS corpus for BMDR, evaluating the effectiveness of HMM in a low-resource context, and offering insights into linguistic challenges in regional languages. Future work may explore larger datasets and advanced deep learning models to improve tagging performance.

Abstract

Abstract

Abstract

Digital transformation has become a major catalyst for creating new opportunities in various sectors, including technopreneurship. This research aims to examine community empowerment strategies in the digital era and how technology can be integrated into technology-based entrepreneurial activities. This empowerment focuses not only on the use of digital devices but also on strengthening human resource capacity through training, digital literacy, and access to digital platforms that support technopreneurial activities. The method used in this research is a descriptive qualitative study using observation and interviews with small- to medium-scale technology entrepreneurs in urban and semi-urban areas. For example, Cake House Aurora is still a home-based business. They still use manual marketing methods, resulting in limited sales. However, increasing digital literacy and the success of technology-based businesses will help Cake House Aurora. Furthermore, empowerment initiatives through digital communities, business incubators, and cross-sector collaboration play a crucial role in accelerating technology adoption. Therefore, empowerment in digital transformation must be directed at developing an innovative, collaborative, and adaptive mindset to change. In conclusion, a digitally educated population has great potential to become resilient, creative, and competitive technopreneurs in the digital economy era.

Abstract

The increasing societal mobility and consumer demand for independent solutions have amplified the need for efficient and convenient laundry services. Traditional laundry operations often struggle with common issues such as long waiting times, potential order inaccuracies, and limited transparency. The primary objective of this research was to develop an Android-based laundry application system featuring robust self-service capabilities. This application empowers customers to seamlessly perform online ordering, secure digital payments, and real-time laundry status tracking, effectively minimizing the need for direct staff intervention. This innovative approach is designed to significantly reduce customer wait periods and enhance the precision of order data. The system was developed using the systematic Waterfall Model. The process involved in-depth requirements analysis, detailed system design, program code implementation, and thorough testing to ensure optimal and bug-free operation. The culmination of this research is a functional prototype of the Android-based application, featuring an intuitive interface and comprehensive self-service functions. This application is expected to both enhance the operational efficiency for laundry providers and deliver a more practical, modern, and independent experience for users managing their laundry needs.
