Abstract

Policy uncertainty is one of the factors that significantly affects the investment climate in the agribusiness sector, especially in the context of sustainable development. This study aims to explore the relationship between policy uncertainty and investment risk in sustainable agribusiness efforts in Indonesia. Through a literature review method, this study analyzes various scientific sources and policy documents related to regulatory changes, regulatory inconsistencies, and political and economic uncertainty that impact investment decisions in the agribusiness sector. The results of the study indicate that policy uncertainty can increase financial and operational risks for investors, hinder capital flows, and reduce interest in long-term investment in environmentally friendly agribusiness systems. In addition, this uncertainty weakens legal certainty, increases transaction costs, and reduces market efficiency. This study recommends the importance of cross-sector policy harmonization, regulatory transparency, and legal certainty as a foundation for creating a stable agribusiness investment climate that supports sustainable development goals.

Abstract

Digital marketing allows farmers and agricultural suppliers to track and analyze market data and information in real-time. Farmers and agricultural suppliers can also create and manage effective digital marketing campaigns to promote their agricultural products. Digital marketing is a solution to overcome the problem of marketing agricultural products, where marketing channels are still relatively long, which can be detrimental to farmers as producers. Marketing plays a key role in increasing the added value of agribusiness products. Digital innovation in agribusiness has significant benefits in solving the problem of oversupply. This research in-depth investigates sustainability innovation: digital marketing of agribusiness products for farmers using a literature review approach. This research discusses digital marketing strategies for agribusiness products for farmers, marketing agricultural products through digital platforms, innovative marketing strategies in agribusiness and digitalization of agribusiness marketing in reducing oversupply of agricultural products.

Abstract

Farmers have a very important role in the agribusiness sector, especially in dealing with various risks that can affect agricultural output. They are not only responsible for producing food, but also act as resource managers, local economic actors, and guardians of environmental sustainability. Farmers must be able to adapt to changes that occur, be it climate change, market price fluctuations, or technological developments. To deal with agribusiness business risks, farmers can apply several effective strategies. This study discusses the roles and strategies of farmers in dealing with agribusiness business risks that are often influenced by various factors, such as climate change, market price fluctuations, pests and diseases, and uncertainty of government policies. Farmers have a crucial role as resource managers, decision makers, innovators, financial managers, and collaborators in their efforts to reduce the impact of various risks that can threaten the sustainability of agribusiness businesses. The strategies implemented include business diversification, technology adoption, wise financial management, strengthening networks and cooperation, and adaptation to environmental and market changes. The results of the study indicate that a combination of proactive roles and well-planned strategies can increase the resilience and success of farmers in dealing with agribusiness business risks. It is important for farmers to continue to develop skills, strengthen networks, and adopt appropriate technologies to reduce uncertainty and improve the sustainability of their agribusiness.

Abstract

Chili is a strategic horticultural commodity in Indonesia that contributes significantly to the national economy and inflation formation. The volatile nature of its production often creates an imbalance with stable public consumption patterns. This study aims to analyze the trends and growth rates of chili production and consumption in Indonesia over the 2013–2023 period. A descriptive quantitative approach was applied using secondary time-series data obtained from the Indonesian Central Bureau of Statistics (BPS) and the Ministry of Agriculture. Data were analyzed using the ordinary least-squares linear trend model and annual growth rate calculations. The results indicate that the long-term trend of chili production is positively upward, expressed by the equation Y = 1,564,402 + 141,837X, with actual production shifting from 1,726,382 tons in 2013 to 3,061,260 tons in 2023, yielding an average annual growth rate of 6.05%. On the downstream side, per capita consumption trends also expanded according to the linear equation Y = 3.69 + 0.07X, reaching 4.614 kg/capita/year in 2023 with an average annual growth of 8.63%. However, the consumption data experienced anomalous extreme fluctuations during the 2015–2017 sub-period, indicating methodological recording bias , whereas annual production remained volatile due to climate disruptions (La Nina). The differing growth characteristics between weather-dependent production and population-driven consumption produce daily supply mismatches that trigger seasonal price volatility. Consequently, national chili commodity policy must pivot toward supply management through climate-adaptive agricultural tech, regional cropping pattern calibrations, cold chain system investments, and sector-wide data synchronization.
