Abstract

Futsal is a sport that requires high physical fitness, especially good cardiorespiratory endurance to support player performance during matches. One indicator that can influence cardiorespiratory endurance is Body Mass Index (BMI), which describes a person's nutritional status and body composition. This study aims to investigate the relationship between BMI and cardiorespiratory endurance in futsal players at Bali International University. The research employed a quantitativeapproach with a cross-sectional design. The sample consisted of 30 participants selected based on inclusion and exclusion criteria. Cardiorespiratory endurance was measured using the Harvard step test, and body mass index was calculated using the BMI formula. The results of the Spearman rank test indicated a significant negative correlation between BMI and cardiorespiratory endurance (r = -0.504; p = 0.005). This means that as BMI increases, cardiorespiratory endurance decreases. Based on the study results, it can be concluded that there is a relationship between body mass index (BMI) and cardiorespiratory endurance in futsal players at Bali International University. Abstract

Work-Related Musculoskeletal Disorders (WMSDs) are one of the most prevalent occupational health issues globally, impacting worker productivity and causing significant economic burdens. Physiotherapy plays a strategic role in Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) efforts, whether at the preventive, curative, or rehabilitative stage, but its integration into OHS policies in Indonesia is still not optimal. This study aims to systematically examine the role of physiotherapy in the prevention and management of work-related musculoskeletal disorders based on published scientific evidence. The research uses a narrative literature review design with article searches through PubMed, Google Scholar, ScienceDirect, and Garuda within the range of 2015–2026. Article selection was conducted based on predetermined inclusion and exclusion criteria, with the selection process adapting the PRISMA principles. The role of physiotherapy was identified in four main themes, namely: (1) participatory ergonomic interventions that effectively reduce the risk of WMSDs in various work sectors; (2) stretching exercise programs as preventive interventions that are applicable and low-cost; (3) physiotherapy education and counseling in increasing workers' awareness of safe work postures; and (4) physiotherapy-based curative-rehabilitative interventions that effectively reduce disability in workers who have experienced WMSDs. Physiotherapy plays a multidimensional role within the framework of occupational health and safety (OHS), with optimal effectiveness achieved through a combinative approach that actively involves workers and is supported by long-term management commitment. The integration of occupational physiotherapy services into the company's OHS service standards needs to be continuously promoted.
