Abstract

The condition of national economic growth has not had a significant impact on improving the community economy. One of the indications can be seen from the high level of open unemployment in 2009. This happened because of complaints from businessmen who felt the difficulty to obtain capital injection from bank as an important source for increasing their production capacity. So that, the intermediation function of Indonesian banking still needs to be questioned. Especially in syariah banking, the role of intermediation function can be seen from the Financing to Deposit Ratio (FDR) indicator. FDR of syariah banking in 2009 showed a degredation from previous years. It indicates a further gap between collected and channeled funds through financing in syariah banking. So it is possible to make a study about the analysis of factors that can affect the banking intermediation function, especially syariah banking. This study aims to identify the factors that influence the intermediation function of syariah banking in Indonesia. The analytical tool used in this study is the "distributed-lag model" model. In this model the analysis carried out multiple linear regression analysis, multiple correlation, calculation of determination coefficient value, and hypothesis check with T-test and F-test. The conclusion is about the existence of  a significant relationship between NPF, SBIS, GDP and CSPI in cooperation with FDR. Partially, NPF has a significantly positive relationship with FDR, meanwhile SBIS and IHSG have a significantly negative relationship with FDR, and for GDP there is no significant relationship with FDR.

Abstract

The good performance of Islamic banking in Indonesia can result in advancing the national economy in Indonesia. Thus this study aims to find out how the determinants of Islamic banking performance influence and also to determine the effect of CAR, NPF, FDR, BOPO and NOM variables on ROA both partially and simultaneously during 2011-2016. This study uses panel data regression analysis. The research object consists of Islamic Commercial Banks in Indonesia with annual data from 2011 to 2016. The dependent variable (Y) used in panel data is ROA and the independent variable (X) consists of CAR, NPF, FDR, BOPO and NOM. shows that the variables affecting the profitability (ROA) of BUS during 2011- 2016, namely CAR, NPF and NOM have a significant positive effect on ROA, while FDR and BOPO have a significant negative effect on ROA. In addition, the CAR, NPF, FDR, BOPO, and

Abstract

Islamic banking is an essential component of the global financial system, offering financial products and services based on Sharia principles. One of the key challenges faced by Islamic banks is the risk of non-performing financing (NPF), as financing is their primary product. This study aims to analyze the factors influencing NPF in Islamic commercial banks in Indonesia during the period 2019–2023, using panel data regression analysis. The results show that the Operating Cost to Operating Income ratio (OCOI), Capital Adequacy Ratio (CAR), Return on Assets (ROA), and Financing to Deposit Ratio (FDR) do not have a statistically significant effect on NPF. Although OCOI does not show a direct impact, a high increase in OCOI may reduce resources allocated for risk management, potentially increasing NPF if portfolio oversight is weak. CAR reflects capital adequacy but does not necessarily indicate financing quality. High ROA does not always ensure proportionate risk management, especially during aggressive financing expansion. FDR also shows no significant impact, as the profit-sharing system in Islamic banking allows for risk-sharing between banks and customers.

Abstract

Abstract

Abstract

This study examines the impact of managerial and institutional ownership on dividend policy in Indonesia’s Islamic banking sector. Managerial and institutional ownership serve as independent variables, with dividend policy, proxied by the Dividend Payout Ratio (DPR), as the dependent variable. Control variables include Return on Assets (ROA), bank size, bank age, and asset growth. The findings indicate that neither managerial nor institutional ownership significantly impacts dividend policy, suggesting that manager-owners are more likely to retain earnings to support long-term growth, while institutional investors prefer capital gains over cash dividends. Bank size shows a significant positive effect on DPR, indicating that larger banks tend to distribute a higher proportion of profits as dividends. These results align with theories suggesting that firms with higher funding needs retain earnings for reinvestment, supporting prior studies that managerial and institutional ownership are not significant determinants of dividend policy in Islamic banking.
