The purpose of this study was to analyze how the application of management functions in the madrasa library, especially in the MAN 2 Palembang library. The research method uses a descriptive approach with qualitative analysis. Data collection techniques used were observation, interview and document study. The results showed that in general the MAN 2 Palembang Library had implemented a management function in library management. The management functions applied include planning, organizing, avtuating and supervising. In general, the management of the school library at the MAN 2 Palembang Library is good enough, but there are still some aspects that must be fixed. MAN 2 Palembang library management planning process is more cornered to user education which can be carried out in the new school year which is carried out simultaneously with the student orientation period. Organizing in the management of school libraries with school libraries in general. The organization includes the form of organizational structure and the division of work of each library staff. The mobilization process related to the leadership process is carried out by the school principal. Mobilization related to job description is carried out with instructions from the Head of Library. Although there are no binding supervision standards, as a form of responsibility the head of the library makes a report every 6 months and the end of the school year is addressed to the principal. However, there are still some obstacles that hamper the process of management in the library; 1) The availability of computers and internet services is still not available to support better management and library services 2) Knowledge of the classification of Islam that should have been determined in Islamic-based school libraries.

The presence of libraries is a familiar and common phenomenon in society, categorized into four types: public, special, school, and university libraries. However, in Indonesia, libraries face challenges, including financial resources, human resource issues, bureaucratic hurdles, physical resource problems, and information resource issues. These challenges have resulted in many libraries not meeting standards, despite guidelines set by the National Library of Indonesia. Libraries, integral to their management processes, often overlook a crucial function—control. This article delves into control as a key management function, addressing the problems encountered by Indonesian libraries. The focus is on control's role in overcoming issues, employing literature study methods and data analysis through observational literature techniques. The results indicate that all four types of libraries need to implement various techniques and analyses, including cost-benefit and return on investment analysis, benchmarking, leadership support, effective collaboration with librarians and technical staff, based on up-to-date information and corrective actions. Additionally, investments in infrastructure, facilities, information technology, digital resources, and information literacy training are essential.

Every library must have a vision and mission that adapts to its parent institution. Efforts to achieve the vision and mission must of course implement management functions, one of the management functions that must be implemented is the controlling function. This research aims to describe the application of the controlling function in realizing the vision and mission and determine the obstacles in realizing the library's vision and mission. This research used descriptive qualitative methods with indirect observation techniques and in-depth interviews with 5 informants. Data analysis techniques use data reduction, verification and conclusions, while testing data validity by extending observations, increasing persistence, triangulation, negative case analysis. The results of this research show that the library of SMK Negeri 2 Pontianak has implemented a controlling function. The implementation of several controlling functions has gone well. However, the application of the controlling function to comparative analysis and feedback evaluation indicators has not been optimal. Obstacles in realizing the library's vision and mission are also caused by problems with library facilities, inadequate physical space and minimal lighting.

This study aims to reveal the application of the functions of management in managing libraries in madrasas. The location of the research was Madrasah Aliyah Negeri 2 Tasikmalaya, West Java. This study uses a qualitative approach. The type of qualitative research used a case study. Data were collected through observation, interviews and documents analysis. The results of the study show that the functions of management applied in managing the madrasah library include (1) preparation of the program; (2) implementation which is essentially service; (3) supervision carried out by Madrasah Heads and Library Heads, and; 4) evaluation. The functions of management that were applied in madrasah library management are relatively the same as the implementation of school library management functions in general. There was nothing typical of madrasa library management. It means that theoretically and practically there are no distinguishing factors in the application of the functions of management in managing madrasa libraries with library management in public schools. So, there are needs to be a reconstruction of the management theory of Islamic education that is completely different from the management theory of education in general.

This article focuses on implementing management functions in the Library of SMK Negeri 2 North Sangatta. This study aims to: (1) describe the implementation of management functions in library management at SMK Negeri 2 North Sangatta, (2) describe the constraints in implementing management functions at the library at SMK Negeri 2 North Sangatta. Based on the results of observations and direct interviews with librarians, it can be summarized as follows. First, the application management function, especially in processing library materials in the library at SMK Negeri 2 North Sangatta has not run optimally, starting from inventorying, classifying, and processing library materials. Second, there were obstacles faced by human resources (HR) or librarian personnel who are experts in the library, as well as limited books on majors such as the Department of heavy equipment engineering which were not yet available.

This study aims to examine the application of management functions in the administration of the library at Madrasah Aliyah Swasta Hidayatullah Tanjung Morawa, as well as to identify supporting and inhibiting factors within the process. Employing a descriptive qualitative approach, data were collected through observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation involving school principals, librarians, teachers, and students. The findings reveal that the core management functions—planning, organizing, implementing, and supervising—have been implemented in library management, although improvements are still needed. Key supporting factors include the involvement of the foundation, local community, and regional government, which play a significant role in optimizing library services. A notable contribution of this study is the active synergy between the school and its surrounding environment in promoting a literacy culture through initiatives such as mobile libraries and village-based libraries. This distinguishes the research from prior studies that focused primarily on internal school dynamics without acknowledging the tangible contributions of external stakeholders. Furthermore, the school’s strategic plans to expand library facilities and enhance librarian competencies demonstrate a sustained commitment to strengthening school-based literacy management.

This paper focuses on the application of management functions in the management of the Library Tamansiswa SMK Padang. This study aims to reveal: (1) describe the application of management functions in the management of the library in the library Tamansiswa SMK Padang, (2) describe the implementation of activities in the management of library management functions in the library Tamansiswa SMK Padang, (3) describe the constraints in the implementation of management functions in the management of libraries in the library Tamansiswa SMK Padang. Based on the results of direct observation and interviews with library staff can be summarized as follows. First, the application management functions particularly in the processing of library materials in the library SMK Padang Tamansiswa not running optimally. Second, the activities in the application management functions particularly in the processing of library materials in the library Tamansiswa SMK Padang did not start well as penginventarisasian, classification and processing of library materials. Third, the absence of the constraints faced by human resources (HR) or personnel librarians who are experts in the library, in addition to the limited space in particular library reading room.

Membangun teori manajemen perpustakaan diatas fungsi-fungsi fundamental manajemen akan mendapatkan beberapa keuntungan terutama dalam penyelenggaraan organisasi seperti perpustakaan. Keuntungan-keuntungan tersebut meliputi: kerangka manajemen yang luas yakni totalitas manajemen perpustakaan dan pengertian-pengertian praktisnya yang dapat diaplikasikan, dan manajemen perpustakaan dapat dipakai untuk memberi manfaat pada pendekatan proses. Di samping itu dengan manajemen perpusiakaan akan terbangun kelonggaran pelaksanaan, tugas yang fleksibel dalam mengelola sebuah perpustakaan, sehingga benar-benar dapat memberi barituan di dalam implementasi tindakan manajemen. Selanjutnya akan dapat membantu pimpinan l manajer dalam mencari dan memahami problema-problema utama yang perlu dihadapi di dalam kasus-kasus tertentu.
