Data komisi Perlindungan Anak Indonesia (KPAI) sampai 2015 mencatat 6.006 kasus kekerasan pada anak yang teridentifikasi sebanyak 3160 kasus kekerasan terhadap anak terkait pengasuhan orang tua, 1764 kasus pendidikan, 1366 kasus kesehatan dan narkoba, dan1032-nya kasus disebabkan cyber crime dan pronografi. Salah satu kekerasan yang kerap terjadi adalah kekerasan verbal orang tua sebanyak 2062. Untuk mengetahui hubungan kekerasan verbal orang tua dengan kecerdasan emosional remaja putri. Jenis penelitian adalah korelasi dengan desain penelitian menggunakan cross sectional. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah siswi kelas XI SMK Katolik St. Louis Randublatung yang berjumlah 42 siswi. Sampel sebanyak 38 siswi dengan teknik pengambilan sampel adalah simple random sampling. Analisis data menggunakan analisis univariat dan analisis bivariat. Kekerasan verbal orang tua pada remaja putri yang kekerasan verbal ringan sebanyak 19 responden (50%). Kecerdasan emosional pada remaja putri sebagian besar adalah kecerdasan emosional tinggi sebanyak 20 responden (52,6%). Ada hubungan kekerasan verbal orang tua dengan kecerdasan emosional remaja putri P-value = 0,000). Diharapkan pada masyarakat khususnya orangtua untuk memahami dampak tindak kekerasan verbal orang tua terhadap kecerdasan emosional, sehingga diharapkan tindak kekerasan orangtua terhadap anak dapat dicegah.
