The problems discussed in this research is an overview of the ability to write circulars are still low. This can be seen when students make mistakes in writing letterhead / letterhead, inaccuracy of students in the use of letter language, and lack of understanding of the use of spelling. The purpose of this study is to know and describe the ability to write a circular letter to students of class XI SMK Negeri 1 Bandar Lampung. To achieve this, the authors used descriptive qualitative methods to describe the ability of students in writing a circular letter, either per aspect or as a whole. Based on the data analysis done, it can be concluded that the student can not be said to be able to write a circular letter properly. It can be seen from the accuracy of the students in writing a letter that corresponds to the systematic writing circulars, letters language usage, spelling and usage.
