Abstract

Chromium (Cr6+) is one of heavy metal which is classify as hazardous waste because of its capability to endanger living organism and environmental pollution. Generally, biological treatment using aquatic plants is used to reduce of Cr6+ toxicity. K2Cr2O7 solution is used in this research as growth mediator for the test plant. Water hyacinth (Eichhorniae crassipes) is used as the test plant and chromium solution without water hyacinth is used as a control. Result showed that Cr6+ concentration of media plant was 5 mg/L represent the optimum condition.
