Upaya
meningkatkan kualitas pendidikan di Indonesia saat ini tidak henti-hentinya
terus digelorakan oleh pakar pendidikan.Berdasarkan data hasil belajar yang
diperoleh siswa kelas IV SDN Tandes Kidul Kota Surabaya melalui penerapan model
pembelajaran kontekstual dalam pembelajaran IPA mengalami peningkatan.
Ketuntasan belajar siswa secara klasikal mengalami peningkatan sebesar 23%.
Selain itu perkembangan hasil belajar siswa pada aspek afektif dan kognitif
juga mengalami peningkatan. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian
ini adalah tindakan kelas (Classroom
Action Research). Penelitian ini menggunakan
metode deskriptif kualitatif dan Kuantitatif dengan prosedur penelitian
meliputi (1) perencanaan tindakan, (2) pelaksanaan tindakan, (3) pengamatan dan
evaluasi, (4) analisis dan refleksi. Aktivitas
guru dan siswa selama penerapan model pembelajaran kontekstual dalam
pembelajaran IPA mengalami penigkatan. Hal ini ditunjukkan dengan adanya
peningkatan persentase aktivitas guru dan siswa pada siklus I dan siklus II.
Aktivitas guru mengalami peningkatan sebesar 18,75% yaitu dari 76,25% pada
siklus I menjadi 95% pada siklus II. Sedangkan aktivitas siswa mengalami
peningkatan sebesar 28,20%, yaitu dari 63,75% pada siklus I menjadi 91,95% pada
siklus II.

Efforts
to improve the quality of education in Indonesia is not kept constantly
inflamed by education experts. Especially those that occur in educational
institutions not only in government agencies, but also the community. Based on
data obtained by studying the results of fourth grade students of SDN Tandes
South Surabaya through the application of contextual learning models in
learning science has increased. Completeness in the classical style of student
learning has increased by 23%. This type of
research is the study is a type of classroom action research (Classroom Action
Research) by using descriptive method with qualitative and quantitative
research procedures include (1) planning action, (2) implementation of the
action, (3) observation and evaluation, (4) analysis and reflection. The analysis of data obtained from the
initial observation, minimal completeness criteria (KKM) science subjects for
the class IV SDN South Tandes I Surabaya in the first semester of the school
year 2011-2012 is 70. Activities of teachers and students during the
application of contextual learning models in science learning experience
penigkatan. This is indicated by an increase in the percentage of the activity
of teachers and students in cycle I and cycle II. Activities of teachers has
increased by 18.75% from 76.25% in cycle I to 95% in cycle II. While the
activities of students has increased by 28.20% from 63.75% to 91.95% cycle I to
cycle II.
