Abstract

Theresia Setyowati (S.811108049 ) Correlation between Principal’s Leadership and Supervision AND Work Satisfaction of Temporary Teachers in Sidoharjo District, Wonogiri Regency. Thesis. Surakarta: Education Technology Study Program, Graduate Progeam, Sebelas Maret University, Surakarta, January 2013.The objectives of this study are to investigate the correlation between principal’s leadership style and work satisfaction of temporary teachers in Sidoharjo District, Wonogiri Regency,  to investigate the correlation between principal’s supervision and work satisfaction of temporary teachers in Sidoharjo District, Wonogiri Regency, to investigate the correlation between principal’s leadsership and supervision AND work satisfaction of temporary teachers in Sidoharjo District, Wonogiri Regency.This study used survey method with correlational approach as main investigation method. The population object is temporary teachers in Sidoharjo District, Wonogiri Regency, accounts for 179 teachers. The instrument in this study is data gathering through questionnaire. The validity of the data was ensured using validity and reliability tests. Product moment correlation technique was employed to test the validity, while Alpha Cronbach method was used to ensure data reliability. Pre-requirement tests, i.e. normality test, linearity test, and independent test, were all applied to the data.The results of the study are there is significant correlation between principal’s leadership and work satisfaction of temporary teachers. The correlation coefficient is 0.687, and signifinance t-test yielded a value of 0.000 < 0.0005. This shows there is solid contribution of leadership to work satisfaction of temporary teachers. And there is significant correlation between principal’s supervision and work satisfaction of temporary teachers. The correlation coefficient is 0.420, and signifinance t-test yielded a value of 0.000 < 0.0005. This also displays there is solid contribution of supervision to work satisfaction of temporary teachers. The aforementioned factors contribute significantly to maximal work efforts of temporary teachers.  Keywords: leadership style, supervision, work satisfaction
