The aim of this research was to analyze the effectiveness of inquiry learning model in terms of mathematical representation skills and students' self confidence. The population of this research was students of grade VII in SMP Al-Azhar 3 Bandarlampung in academic year of 2016/2017 that were distributed into seven classes. The samples of this research were students of VII D and VII E classes which were chosen by purposive sampling. The design was pretest-posttest control group design. Data of the research were analyzed using t-test. Based on the result of the research, it was concluded that inquiry learning model was not effective in terms of mathematical representation skills and students self confidence but the improvement of students mathematical representatition skills which following inquiry learning model was better than conventional learning.Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis efektivitas model inquiry learning ditinjau dari kemampuan representasi matematis dan self confidence siswa. Populasi pada penelitian adalah seluruh siswa kelas VII di SMP Al-Azhar 3 Bandarlampung Tahun Pelajaran 2016/2017 yang terdistribusi dalam tujuh kelas. Sampel penelitian adalah siswa kelas VII D dan VII E yang diambil dengan teknik purposive sampling. Desain penelitian yang digunakan adalah pretest-posttest control group design. Analisis data penelitian ini menggunakan uji-t. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian dapat disimpulkan bahwa model inquiry learning tidak efektif ditinjau dari kemampuan representasi matematis dan self confidence siswa, akan tetapi peningkatan kemampuan representasi matematis siswa yang mengikuti model inquiry learninglebih baik daripada pembelajaran konvensional.Kata kunci: efektivitas, kemampuan representasi matematis, self confidence, inquiry learning
