This quasi experimental research aimed to find out the influence of discovery learning to the improvement of student’s mathematical representation skill. The population was all students of grade VIII SMP Negeri 2 Banjar Margo Kabupaten Tulang Bawang in academic year 2017/2018 which were distributed into three classes. The students of class VIII 2 and VIII 3 were selected as research samples by random sampling technique. This research used pretest-posttest control group design. The research data was obtained by the essay test of mathematical representation skill. The analysis data used t test and it showed that the improvement of student’s mathematical representation skill which used discovery learning was greater than the improvement of student’s mathematical representation skill which used non discovery learning. The results of this research concluded that discovery learning was influenced to the improvement of student’s mathematical representation skill.Penelitian eksperimen semu ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh model discovery learning terhadap peningkatan kemampuan representasi matematis siswa. Populasi penelitian adalah seluruh siswa kelas VIII SMP Negeri 2 Banjar Margo Kabupaten Tulang Bawang Tahun Pelajaran 2017/2018 yang terdistribusi dalam tiga kelas. Siswa kelas VIII 2 dan VIII 3 terpilih sebagai sampel penelitian yang diambil dengan teknik random sampling. Penelitian ini menggunakan pretest-posttest control group design. Data penelitian diperoleh dari tes kemampuan representasi matematis berbentuk uraian. Analisis data menggunakan uji t dan diperoleh hasil bahwa peningkatan kemampuan representasi matematis siswa yang menggunakan model discovery learning lebih baik daripada peningkatan kemampuan representasi matematis siswa yang menggunakan pembelajaran non-discovery. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian dapat disimpulkan bahwa model discovery learning berpengaruh terhadap peningkatan kemampuan representasi matematis siswa.
