<![CDATA[ABSTRACT The purpose of this research is (1) describe the usege of conjungtion a coordinative in a short story by students in grade IX of middle school of seven districts south solok, and (2) describe the usage of conjungtion subordinative in a short story by student in grade IX of middle school of seven districts south solok. This type of research qualitative with the descriptive. The result of this reaseach is (1) conjungtion that are widely used class IX of middle school of seven districts south solok which is conjungtion subordinative as much as 487 in conjungtion a coordinative as many as 360, conjungtion subordinative that are widely used which is conjungtion subordinative time (after, so that, when, until, after, while, so that, for) while conjugtion a coordinative that are widely used which is conjungtion a coordinative the addition of (and)), (2) there are three conjungtion that are not used in a short story by students in grade IX of middle school of seven districts south solok, wich is conjungtion a coordinative flanking (and), conjungtion subordinative the modalities (let’s say, if, for example, in case), and conjungtion subordinative the (the same... with, more... from... on...) and (3) is still a lot of students who do not understand about the use of conjungtion a coordinative and conjungtion subordinative in a sentece.
