ABSTRACT This article reveals the contribution of skills reading comprehension text exposition to writing skills text description grade students VIII SMP Negeri Padang Panjang 2.. This research type is quantitative descriptive method. The design used in this research is the design contribution. This research population is grade VIII SMP Negeri 2 Padang Panjang are registered on the 12th school year 2018/2019, i.e. as many as 156 students. The sample in this research are determined by proportional random sampling of 25% of the population, i.e. 40 students. Research data is a score test results intermediate reading comprehension text exposition and score the writing skills test result text exposition. The data obtained through two types of tests i.e. objective tests to measure the skills of reading comprehension text exposition and performance tests to measure the skills of writing a text exposition. The results of the research there are three. First, the skills of reading comprehension text exposition grade VIII SMP Negeri Padang PanjangÂ 2 are on good qualifications (B) by the value of the average 79.39. Second, the skills of writing text exposition grade VIII SMP Negeri Padang PanjangÂ 2 are on good qualifications (B) with an average of 80.23. Third, there is a contribution of reading skills in the description of text to the skills of writing exposition texts of class grade VIII SMP Negeri PadangÂ Panjang 2 at 76,39%.Â Kata kunci: Kontribusi, Keterampilan, Membaca Pemahaman, Menulis, Teks Eksposisi

ABSTRACTÂ There are three aims of this study. First, describe the skills of reading comprehention ofÂ VII grade students at SMP Negeri 33 Padang. Second, describe the writing skills of the report observation text of VII grade students atÂ SMP Negeri 33 Padang. Third, describe the correlation of reading comprehentionÂ with the writing skills of the report observation text of VII grade students at SMP Negeri 33 Padang. The Â type of this research is quantitative in terms of descriptive methods. The design used in this study is correlational design. The population of this study was the seventh grade students of the SMP Negeri 33 PadangÂ which was registered in the 2018/2019 school year, it was 192 students. The sample in this study was determined by proportional random sampling of 20% of the population, namely 36 students. The research data is in the form of scores on the skills test results of reading comprehention and scores on the results of the test writing skills of the report observation text. The instrument of this study is an objective test to measure reading comprehention skills and performance tests to measure report observation text writing skills. The results of this study are three. First, the skills to write report observation texts of Â VII grade students of the SMP Negeri 33 PadangÂ is in accordance with the Good qualifications (B) with an averange value 82,99. Second, the skill of reading comprehentionÂ of VII grade students of the SMP Negeri 33 PadangÂ in accordance with Good qualifications (B) with an averange value 81,42. Third, there is a significant correlation betwen reading comprehention skills and report observation text writing skills of VIII grade students of the SMP Negeri 7 Padang on n-1 freedom degrees and 95% significant level. H0 is reject and H1is accepted because the tcount is greater than ttable (13,59Â > 2,68). Â Kata Kunci:Â Korelasi, Keterampilan Membaca Pemahaman, Keterampilan Menulis Teks Laporan Hasil Observasi.

ABSTRACTÂ This research was conducted to describe sentence structure and diction (word selection) exposition text of class VIII students of SMP Negeri 12 Padang. This type of research is qualitative with descriptive method. The data of this study are qualitative data in the form of text exposition of students. Data are analyzed by steps, namely (1) the researcher identifies the sentence structure contained in the students' exposition text, (2) the researcher identifies the diction contained in the student's exposition text, (3) the results of the analysis by the triangulation informant, (4) make conclusions. Based on the results of the study, two things are summarized as follows. First, in writing about the exposition text of the eighth grade students of Padang 12 Middle School using six basic sentence patterns. The sixth basic pattern of the exposition text sentence structure is SP, SPO, SPPel, SPK, SPOK, and SPOPel. This is evident from the 40 exposition texts that have been analyzed, the basic pattern of the sentence most used by students is SPOPel, while the basic pattern of the least used sentence is SP. Second, when viewed from the use of diction with the accuracy of the use of diction 90% and the use of 10% diction which is inaccurate in the exposition text by class VIII students of Padang Middle School 12.Â Kata Kunci: Stuktur Kalimat, Diksi, dan Teks EksposisiÂ Â

ABSTRACTÂ The purpose of this study consists of three things as follows. First, it describes the level of reading skills in understanding the short stories of students of class VIII SMP Negeri 1 Padang. Secondly, it describes the level of short story writing skills of students of VIII SMP Negeri 1 Padang. Third, describe the relationship between reading skills understanding short stories and short story writing skills of students of VIII SMP Negeri 1 Padang. The variables of this research are the short story comprehension reading skills as the X variable and the short story writing text writing skills as the Y variable. The research data were the scores of the short story reading comprehension test skills of the eighth grade students of SMP Negeri 1 Padang and the scores of the results of the short story writing skills text review of the eighth grade students of SMP Negeri 1 Padang. The results of this study consisted of three things as follows. First, the reading skills of the short story comprehension of Grade VIII students of SMP Negeri 1 Padang are in the Qualification More Than Enough with an average count of 67.01. Second, the short story writing skills of the eighth grade students of SMP Negeri 1 Padang in short story writing are in the Fair qualifications with an average count of 62.15. Third, based on the results of the t-test, an alternative hypothesis was accepted at the 95% confidence level.Â Kata Kunci: Korelasi, Membaca Pemahaman Cerpen, Menulis Teks Ulasan Cerpen

Second, it describes the writing skills text description grade VII SMP Negeri 8 field. Third, describing the correlation of the reading comprehension text descriptions and writing skills text description grade VII SMP Negeri 8 field. This research population is grade VII SMP 8 Negeri Padang are registered on the 12th school year 2018/2019, i.e. as many as 255 students. The sample in this research are determined by proportional random sampling of 15% of the population, i.e. 40 students. The data obtained through two types of tests i.e. objective tests to measure the skills of reading comprehension text description and performance tests to measure the skills of writing a text description. The results of the research there are three. First, the skills of reading comprehension text description grade VII SMP Negeri Padang 8 are on good qualifications (B) by the value of the average 79.17. Second, the skills of writing text descriptions grade VII SMP Negeri Padang 8 are on good qualifications (B) with an average of 81.25. Third, there is a significant correlation between reading skills of calss VII students of SMP Negeri 8 Padang in the freedom degree and 95% significant level. H0 is rejected an H1 is accepted because the test results prove that the count is greater than ttable, namely 7,56>2,68.Â Kata kunci: Korelasi, Keterampilan, Membaca Pemahaman, Menulis

ABSTRACTÂ The purpose of this study is threefold, namely (1) the effectiveness of the sentence in the exposition essay of VIIIÂ grade students of SMP Negeri 1 Tanjung Raya in terms of sentence structure, (2) choice of words, and (3) spelling use. The type of research used is qualitative research using descriptive methods. Data ofÂ researchÂ is the results of identification of sentence ineffectiveness used in essays of exposition and sourced from the object of research. The technique of validating the data used is the thick descriptionÂ technique. Data were analyzed using simple statistical descriptive techniques and qualitative analysis using formats.Â Of 264Â sentences used as research data, there were 47Â effective sentences and 199Â sentences were not effective. This means that there is still a lack of understanding of VII grade students of SMP Negeri 1 Tanjung Raya about effective sentences in exposition essays. The ineffectiveness of these 46 sentences is because they do not meet one or more of the indicators used in this study. Second, 42 sentences are not effective in terms of sentence structure. this is because one element is incomplete. Third, 125 sentences are not effective in terms of the use of word choices. This is due to inappropriate choice of words. Fourth, 97Â sentences are not effective in terms of spelling usage. 48Â sentences on the inaccuracy of the use of capital letters, 5Â sentences on the inaccuracy of the use of dots, and 44Â sentences on the inaccuracy of using commas.Â Kata kunci: Keefektifan, Kalimat, Teks Eksposisi

ABSTRACTThe aim of the study was to reveal the social criticism depicted in Djenar's Novel Nayla's works. This research is a qualitative descriptive research that is research by solving a problem that exists in the object. This study used a Socioligi approach to literary sociology theory. The data source in this study was Nayla's novel by Djenar Maesa Ayu. The research data is in the form of words and display of narrator sentences and story figures and story actions. Data collection is done by reading, understanding and analyzing the novel. The data analysis is done by interpreting the data with the theory used in the research. The data validation technique in this study has discussions with lecturers to obtain correct and true information. The results of this study were the social criticism of poverty, social criticism of crime, social criticism of family disorganization, social homosexual criticism, and social and environmental unrest. The conclusion of the results and the discussion that, the research is more to the social problems found in the novel.Â Kata kunci: kritik sosial, novel Nayla, Djenar Maesa Ayu.

ABSTRACTÂ The purpose of this research is to description of the following. First, describe the mastery level of instrinsik element of grade IX SMP Negeri 20 Padang. Second, describing the skill level of writing short story students in class IX SMP Negeri 20 Padang. Thirdly, it describes the contribution of Instrinsik element mastery to the short story writing skills of class IX SMP Negeri 20 Padang. This type of research is quantitative using a descriptive method with a correlation approach. The population amounted to 285 people and was spread in nine classrooms. This research sample amounted to 57 people. The research Data is a result of the objective test of multiple-choice for an Instrinsik element mastery test consisting of 42 grains. Student short story writing skills Data is obtained by conducting a performance test. The collected Data is analyzed according to the indicators to get student scores and grades. Based on the results of the study, three sympultants were obtained. First, the skills of short story writing students IX SMP Negeri 20 Padang Panjang in general are on the qualification more than enough with an average value of 72.15.Â Secondly, the mastery of instrinsik element of grade XI SMP Negeri 20 Padang is being qualified more than enough with the average value of 69.76 count. Thirdly, the mastery of language style contributes to the short story writing skills of class IX SMP Negeri 20 Padang by 32.49%, while the rest is influenced by other factors that are not researched in this study.Â Kata Kunci: Kontribusi, Unsur Instrinsik, Menulis Cerita Pendek

ABSTRACTThe purpose of this study was categorized into three. First, to describe the text writing skills of the experimental class persuasion students. Second, to describe the text writing skills of the control class students' persuasion. Third, to describe the influence of the cooperative learning which was Think Talk Write (TTW) model assisted by audiovisual media in writing skill related to the persuasive text of class VIII students of SMP Negeri 8 Padang. The type of study was quantitative with quasi-experimental research. The design of this study was static by two groups. The population in this study was VIII grade students of SMP Negeri 8 Padang who were enrolled in 2018/2019 academic year about 252 students. The sample in this study was 64 students that consist of two classes, namely class VIII A as the experimental class and class VIII D as the control class that was taken by using purposive random sampling technique. There were several results of this study. They were: First, persuasive text writing skill of the experimental class students was in the category Very Good (BS) with an average score of 85.94. Second, persuasive text writing skill of control class students was in the category Good (B) with an average score of 76.82. Third, the working hypothesis (H_1) was received at the level of Î± = 0.05 and degrees of freedom (dk) = (n1 + n2) -2 because of tcount>ttable, which is 4.23> 1.70. In other words, the use of model cooperative learning type Think Talk Write assisted by audiovisual media has a significant effect on the persuasive writing skills of class VIII students of SMP Negeri 8 Padang. Therefore, the cooperative learning type Think Talk Write (TTW) model could be used as an alternative in learning persuasive text writing skill at the junior secondary level. The sample in this Â research are determined by propotional random sampling of 20% of the populations, i.e. 54 students. Research data is a score test results intermediate reading comprehension and score the writing skills test result text exposition. The data obtained through two types of tests i.e. objective tests to measure the skills of reading comprehension text eksposition and performance tests to measure the skills of writing a text eksposition. The results of the research there are three. First, the skills of reading comprehension grade VIII SMP Negeri Padang 13 are on more than enough qualifications (LdC) by the value of the average 75.41. Second, the skills of writing text exposition grade VIII SMP Negeri Padang 13 are on good qualifications (B) with an average of 77.37. Third, there is a contribution of reading skills in the exposition of text to the skills of writing exposition texts of class grade VIII SMP Negeri Padang 13 at 62.77%.Â Kata kunci: Kontribusi, Keterampilan, Membaca Pemahaman, Menulis,Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Teks Eksposisi.
