<![CDATA[AbstractThis research aimed to determine the process and impact of social changes in the Sentana village tourism area community, Tanjung Sekayam of Sanggau District. This research used the descriptive method, in the form of qualitative research. The data source of this research was the community in the tourist area of Sentana village. the data were obtained through the interview, observation, and documentation technique. The data collection tools used are the guidelines for observation and interview, and documentation tools. The analysis in this study was presented in descriptive qualitative, involving 6 informants. Based on the analysis, it was found that (1) the process of social change occurring in the community was caused by the presence of a new idea of the local community to make their village a tourist area. This idea was communicated through an open forum and received good support from the community regarding new innovations for Sentana village. (2) the process of social change has both positive and negative effects. The positive impacts that occurred are increases in the ease of community activities, social integration, community quality, social mobility, and community mindset. The shortcomings, however, are conflicts occurred between the individual retailer, as well as environmental pollution in the tourist area of Kampung Sentana.
