PENERAPAN MEDIA BIG BOOK DALAM MENINGKATKAN KETERAMPILAN MEMBACA PEMAHAMAN SISWA DI SEKOLAH DASAR

Abstract

This study aims to determine the use of Big Book media in improving reading comprehension skills of elementary school students. The research is motivated by the low reading comprehension skills of elementary school students. This research is a classroom action research by adapting the Kemmis Mc Taggart model. The instruments used in this study include learning plan sheets, observation sheets, questionnaire sheets, and test sheets. Based on the results of tests conducted on third grade students of SDN 24 Pontianak, it can be concluded that Big Book media can improve reading comprehension skills of elementary school students. Abstrak Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui penggunaan media Big Book dalam meningkatkan keterampilan membaca pemahaman siswa sekolah dasar. Adapun penelitian ini dilatar belakangi oleh rendahnya keterampilan membaca pemahaman yang dimiliki oleh siswa sekolah dasar. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian tindakan kelas dengan mengadaptasi model Kemmis Mc Taggart. Instrumen yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini antara lain lembar rencana pembelajaran, lembar observasi, lembar angket, dan lembar tes. Berdasarkan hasil tes yang dilakukan pada siswa kelas III SDN 24 Pontianak, dapat disimpulkan bahwa media Big Book dapat meningkatkan keterampilan membaca pemahaman siswa sekolah dasar.
