<![CDATA[This study aims to describe the effectiveness of POGIL model to increase critical thinking skills in chemical equilibrium topic. The population is all of the students from XI Science at one of senior high schools in Bandar Lampung academic year 2018/2019. The sample was selected by purposive sampling tehnique which was obtained XI Science 5 as experiment class and XI Science 6 as control class. This research used quasi experiment method with pretestt-posttest control group design. Experimental class used POGIL model and control class used conventional lecture. The result with t-test indicated that score of n-Gain mean difference was significantly different between experimental and control class, supported by the percentage of students’ activity average at the experimental class is higher than control class, and POGIL model was implemented by high criteria. From the result, it can be concluded that the learning with POGIL model is effective to increase critical thinking skills in chemical equilibrium. Populasi penelitian adalah seluruh siswa XI MIPA disalah satu SMA di Bandar Lampung tahun ajaran 2018/2019. Sampel dipilih dengan teknik purposive sampling yaitu XI MIPA 5 sebagai kelas eksperimen dan XI MIPA 6 sebagai kelas kontrol. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kuasi eksperimen dengan Pretestt-Posttest Control Group Design. Kelas eksperimen menggunakan model POGIL dan kelas kontrol menggunakan metode ceramah. Hasil uji-t menunjukkan perbedaan rata-rata n-Gain yang signifikan antara kelas eksperimen dengan kelas kontrol, ditunjang dengan rata-rata persentase aktivitas siswa kelas eksperimen lebih tinggi, serta model POGIL terlaksana dengan kriteria sangat tinggi. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, disimpulkan bahwa pembelajaran model POGIL efektif untuk meningkatkan keterampilan berpikir kritis pada materi kesetimbangan kimia.Kata kunci : Efektivitas model POGIL, kesetimbangan kimia, keterampilan berpikir kritis]]>
