EFEKTIVITAS PROBLEM SOLVING PADA MATERI ASAM-BASA DALAM MENINGKATKAN KETERAMPILAN BERPIKIR LANCAR

Abstract

This research aimed to describe the effectiveness of problem solving learning model to improve the fluency skills in acid-base subject matter.  The population of this research were students of class XI IPA SMA Al-Azhar 3 Bandar Lampung even semester of academic 2013-2014.  Sample was taken by purposive sampling technique and obtained XI IPA 4 class and XI IPA 5 class assamples.  The method used in this research was quasi experimental with non eqiuvalent pretest-posttest control group design.  Effectiveness of this learning model was showed by the significant difference of n-Gain between experiment class and control class.  The results of research showed that the average n-Gain of fluency skills of control class and experiment class were 0,32 and 0,64 respectively.  The result of t-test showed that problem solving learning model was effective to improve the fluency skills in acid-base subject matter. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan efektivitas model pembelajaran problem solving dalam meningkatkan keterampilan berpikir lancar pada materi asam-basa.  Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas XI IPA SMA Al-Azhar 3 Bandar Lampung semester genap tahun pelajaran 2013-2014.  Pengambilan sampel dilakukan dengan teknik purposive sampling dan diperoleh kelas XI IPA 4 dan XI IPA 5 sebagai sampel.  Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah kuasi eksperimen dengan menggunakan non eqiuvalent pretest-posttest control group design.  Efektivitas model pembelajaran ini ditunjukkan dengan perbedaan n-Gain yang signifikan antara kelas kontrol dan kelas eksperimen.  Hasil penelitian menunjukkan rata-rata n-Gain  keterampilan berpikir lancar kelas kontrol dan eksperimen masing-masing 0,32 dan 0,64.  Hasil uji t menunjukkan bahwa model pembelajaran problem solving efektif dalam meningkatkan keterampilan berpikir lancar siswa pada materi asam-basa. Kata kunci: asam-basa, keterampilan berpikir lancar, model pembelajaran problem solving
