EFEKTIVITAS INKUIRI TERBIMBING MATERI ASAM-BASA-GARAM DALAM MENINGKATKAN KETERAMPILAN KLASIFIKASI DAN KOMUNIKASI

Abstract

The research which used quasi experiment method with non equivalent pretest-postest control group design had been done at SMP N 1 Sekampung. The goal of this research was to describe the effectiveness of guided inquiry learning to improve classification and communication skills on acid-base and salt topic. The data on this research were collected from two classes which were obtained by using purposive sampling. The result showed that the n-Gain mean of classification and communication skills for experiment class were 0.52 and 0.65, respectively and for control class were 0.42 and 0.43, respectively. Because of the n-Gain mean for experiment and control classes were different significantly and based on hypotheses testing statistically, it can be inferred that the guided inquiry learning was effective to improve classification and communication skills.Penelitian yang menggunakan metode kuasi eksperimen dengan desain non equivalent pretest-postest control group telah dilaksanakan di SMP N 1 Sekampung. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah mendeskripsikan efektivitas pembelajaran inkuiri terbimbing untuk meningkatkan keterampilan mengklasifikasikan dan mengomunikasikan pada materi asam-basa dan garam. Data penelitian dikumpulkan dari dua kelas yang mana kelas tersebut diperoleh dengan menggunakan purposive sampling. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa rerata n-Gain keterampilan mengklasifikasikan dan mengomunikasikan untuk kelas eksperimen masing-masing sebesar 0.52 dan 0.65 serta untuk kelas kontrol masing-masing 0.42 dan 0.43. dikarenakan rerata n-Gain tersebut untuk kelas eksperimen dan kontrol berbeda secara signifikan serta berdasarkan pengujian hipotesis secara statistik dapat disimpulkan bahwa pembelajaran inkuiri terbimbing efektif dalam meningkatkan keterampilan mengklasifikasikan dan mengomunikasikan.Kata kunci: asam-basa-garam, inkuiri terbimbing, keterampilanklasifikasi, keterampilan komunikasi
