EFEKTIVITAS MODEL POGIL UNTUK MENINGKATKAN KETERAMPILAN BERPIKIR KRITIS MATERI LARUTAN ELEKTROLIT DAN NON ELEKTROLIT

Abstract

This study aims to describe the POGIL model in improving students' critical thinking skills in electrolyte and non electrolyte solution topic. The population of this research was all tenth grade of science students and the sample used in this study was class X IPA 2 as the control class and X IPA 4 as the experimental class obtained through purposive sampling technique. The method is quasi experiment with Pretest-Posttest Control Group Design. Data analysis used independent sample t-test that is to used Mann-Whitney U. The results showed that the average n-gain of the critical thinking skills of the experimental class students was higher than the average n-gain of critical thinking skills of the control class students. The concluded in this research POGIL model was effective to improve critical thingking skills in electrolyte and non electrolyte Solution topic.Keywords : critical thinking skills, electrolyte and non electrolyte solution, POGIL model. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk men­deskripsikan efektivitas model POGIL dalam meningkatkan keterampilan berpikir kritis siswa pada materi larutan elektrolit dan non elektrolit. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas X dan sampel yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini yaitu kelas X IPA 2 sebagai kelas kontrol dan X IPA 4 sebagai kelas eksperimen yang di­peroleh melalui teknik purposive sampling. Metode dalam penelitian ini adalah quasi ekspe­rimen dengan desain penelitian Pretest-Posttest Control Group Design. Analisis data menggunakan uji perbedaan dua rata-rata yaitu menggunakan uji Mann-Whitney U. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa rata-rata n-gain keterampilan berpikir kritis siswa kelas eksperimen lebih tinggi dari pada rata-rata n-gain keterampilan berpikir kritis siswa kelas kontrol. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian dapat disimpulkan bahwa model POGIL efektif untuk meningkatkan keterampilan berpikir kritis siswa pada materi larutan elektrolit dan non elektrolit.Kata kunci: keterampilan berpikir kritis, larutan elektrolit dan non elektrolit, model POGIL.
