PENERAPAN SIMAYANG TIPE II UNTUK MENINGKATKAN MODEL MENTAL DAN PENGUASAAN KONSEP SISWA

Abstract

The pre-experiment research with the purposes to describe practicality, effectiveness, and effect size of SiMaYang type II for upgrading the students mental model and concept mastery of atomic theory development had been done by using One Group Pretest-Posttest Design. The research result indicated that: percentage of the implementation and the students response about the application of SiMaYang type II learning model had high criteria. Result of data analysis indicated that the students activity during the learning and the teachers ability in processing of the learning had high category. The effect size indicated that learning with SiMaYang type II was practically and effective to be applied for upgrading the students mental model and concept mastery of atomic theory development.Penelitian pre-experimen ini bertujuan mendeskripsikan kepraktisan, keefektivan dan ukuran pengaruh SiMaYang tipe II untuk meningkatkan model mental dan penguasaan konsep siswa pada Materi Pokok Perkembangan Teori Atom yang telah dilakukan dengan One Group Pretest-Posttest Design. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan: persentase keterlaksanaan dan respon siswa terhadap penerapan model pembelajaran SiMaYang tipe II memiliki kriteria tinggi. Hasil analisis data menunjukkan bahwa aktivitas siswa selama pembelajaran dan kemampuan guru dalam mengelola pembelajaran memiliki kategori tinggi. Ukuran pengaruh menunjukkan bahwa pembelajaran dengan model SiMaYang Tipe II praktis dan efektif diterapkan untuk meningkatkan model mental dan penguasaan konsep siswa pada materi perkembangan teori atom.Kata kunci: model mental, penguasaan konsep, SiMaYang tipe II, ukuran pengaruh
