PEMBELAJARAN PROBLEM SOLVING UNTUK MENINGKATKAN KEMAMPUAN BERPIKIR LUWES SISWA PADA REAKSI REDOKS

Abstract

The aim of this research was to describe the effectiveness of problem sol­ving learning to increase students’ flexibility thinking ability through redox reactions ma­terial. This research used Non Equivalent Control Group Design. The sample was chosen by using purposive sampling. Population of the research was tenth grade student’s of SMA Negeri 3 Bandar Lampung at second semester in the 2013/2014 year, the sample were, X science 2 and X science 4. The effectiveness of problem solving learning analyzed based on the differences of significant n-Gain between experiment and control classes. The results showed that the average n-Gain score in experimental and control were 0,65 and 0,32. Based on hyphothesis testing, it can be concluded that problem solving learning is effective to increase students’ flexibility thinking ability through redox reactions material.Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mendeskripsikan efektivitas model pembelajaran problem solving dalam meningkatkan kemampuan siswa dalam berpikir luwes pada reaksi redoks. Metode penelitian ini adalah kuasi eksperimen dengan Non Equivalent Control Group Design. Sampel penelitian dipilih menggunakan teknik purposive sampling.  Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah semua siswa kelas X IPA SMA Negeri 3 Bandar Lampung semester genap Tahun Pelajaran 2013/2014 dan sampel penelitian adalah kelas X IPA2 dan X IPA4. Efektivitas pembelajaran problem solving diukur berdasarkan perbedaan n-Gain yang signifikan antara kelas eksperimen dan kelas kontrol. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa rata-rata n-Gain kemampuan siswa dalam berpikir luwes pada kelas eksperimen dan kelas kontrol sebesar 0,65 dan 0,32. Berdasarkan pengujian hipotesis, diketahui bahwa model pembelajaran problem solving efektif dalam meningkatkan kemampuan siswa dalam berpikir luwes pada materi reaksi redoks.Kata kunci: kemampuan berpikir luwes, model problem solving, reaksi redoks
