Abstract

The research objective was to determine the effectiveness student worksheet based guided inquiry for growing students critical thinking ability. The research method is quasi experimental with one group pretest posttest design. Random sample selection from population class VIII SMPN 22 Bandar Lampung year lesson 2016-2017, so that obtained class VIII E and VIII G as sample. Quantitative data in the form of pretest, posttest, and n-Gain result were analyzed inference using t-tes. Qualitative data in the form of observation result of teacher ability anf student activity in learning analyzed descriptively. The result showed n-Gain critical thinking ability of experiment class students (0.35) higher than control class (0.25). The ability of teachers and student activities in learning is very high. Thus it is concluded that the use of Student worksheet based guided inquiry effectively fosters students critical thingking ability.Penelitian ini bertujuan mengetahui keefektivan penggunaan LKS berbasis inkuiri terbimbing dalam menumbuhkan kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa. Metode penelitian adalah eksperimen semu (quasi experimental) dengan rancangan one group pretest posttest design. Pemilihan sampel secara random dari populasi kelas VIII SMPN 22 Bandar Lampung tahun pelajaran 2016-2017, sehingga diperoleh kelas VIII E dan VIII G sebagai sampel. Data kuantitatif berupa hasil pretes, postes, dan n-Gain dianalisis secara inferensi menggunakan uji-t. Data kualitatif berupa hasil observasi kemampuan guru dan aktivitas siswa dalam pembelajaran dianalisis secara deskriptif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan n-Gain kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa kelas eksperimen (0,35) lebih tinggi dibanding kelas kontrol (0,25). Kemampuan guru dan aktivitas siswa dalam pembelajaran sangat tinggi. Dengan demikian disimpulkan bahwa penggunaan LKS berbasis inkuiri terbimbing efektif menumbuhkan kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa.Kata kunci : LKS, inkuiri terbimbing, kemampuan berpikir kritis

Abstract

This research is intended to describe the effective characteristics of learning cycle 5E (LC 5E) teaching method in increasing students’ inferring skill and concept mastery in basic termokimia subject of SMA Negeri 6 Bandar Lampung.  The samples of this research were the XI IPA2 as control class and the XI IPA3as experimental class.  Purposive Sampling Technique was implemented to choose the samples of this research.  Quasi Experimental Method by implementing Non Equivalent Control Group Design was employed in this research. The effectiveness of LC 5E teaching method was measured based on the significant level of n-gain increase.  The result shows that the average of n-gain for inferring skill in control class and experimental class were 0,12 and 0,43; while the average of n-gain in concept mastery in control class and experimental class were 0,13 and 0,53.  This fact shows that LC 5E teaching method is more effective in increasing students’ inferring skill and concept mastery in basic termokimia subject.Key words :  LC 5E, inferring skill and concept mastery

Abstract

This research aimed to describe the guided inquiry model that are effective in improving the inference and mastery of concepts skill in the subject of colloid. The samples of this research were the students of SMAN 1 Seputih Mataram class XI IPA2 and XI IPA3 at even semester year of 2012-2013. This research used quasi experiment method by non equivalent control group design. Effectiveness of guided inquiry learning model measured based on significant n-Gain difference between control class and experiment class. The result of this research showed the average of inference skill n-Gain for control class and experimental class were 0,35 and 0,60, then the average of mastery of concepts skill n-Gain for control class and experimental class were 0,38 and 0,67. Based on the hypothesis testing, it was concluded that the guided inquiry learning model effective in improving the inference and mastery of concepts skill on colloid subject.                              Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan efektivitas model inkuiri terbimbing  dalam meningkatkan keterampilan menginferensi dan penguasaan konsep pada materi koloid. Sample dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa SMAN 1 Seputih Mataram kelas  XI IPA2dan XI IPA3 semester genap Tahun Ajaran 2012-2013. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kuasi eksperimen dengan non equivalent control group design. Efektivitas model inkuiri terbimbing diukur berdasarkan perbedaan n-Gain yang signifikan antara kelas kontrol dan kelas eksperimen. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan nilai rerata n-Gain keterampilan menginferensi untuk kelas kontrol dan eksperimen yaitu 0,35 dan 0,60, lalu nilai rerata n-Gain penguasaan konsep untuk kelas kontrol dan eksperimen yaitu 0,38 dan 0,67. Berdasarkan pengujian hipotesis, didapat kesimpulan bahwa pembelajaran inkuiri terbimbing efektif dalam meningkatkan keterampilan menginferensi dan penguasaan konsep pada materi koloid.Kata kunci :keterampilan menginferensi, koloid, pembelajaran inkuiri terbimbing, penguasaan konsep.

Abstract

This research aimed to describe effectiveness of PLGI learning in improving of student’s learning motivation and concept mastery at Basic Laws of Chemistry.  The population in this study was all students of class X in State Senior High School 2 Gadingrejo at school year 2012-2013. Sampling use class X1 as a control class and X2as a experiment class. This is a quasi-experimental research using Non Eqiuvalent (Pretest-Posttest) Control Group Design. Effectiveness of learning was measured based on improvements n-Gain significant and students be more motivated to study hard and get a better mastery of the concept after learning.  The results showed that: (1) the average value of n-Gain student’s learning motivation in experiment class and control class are 0,14 and 0,02, and the average value of n-Gain mastery of the concept in experiment class and control class are 0,58 and 0,42.  (2) the percentage of  highly motivated students each indicator of motivation in the experiment class was higher than the control class, (3) mastery learning experiment class reached 89,29%, while the control class reached 60,71%.  Showing that student’s learning motivation and concept mastery at Basic Laws of Chemistry in experiments class were higher than the control class.  Thus, the PLGI learning model is effective in improving student’s learning motivation and mastery of the concept at basic laws of chemistry in state senior high school 2 Gadingrejo.Keywords: Peer Led Guided Inquiry, student’s learning motivation and concept  mastery

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effectiveness of LC 5E learning models in improving skills and mastery of concepts conclude on chemical equilibrium material. The population in this study were all students of class XI Science SMAN I Natar Year 2012-2013 semester with classes XI IPA 4 and XI IPA 5 as a sample. This study uses a quasi experimental non equivalent control group design. effectiveness measured studying LC 5E n-Gain increased significantly. The results showed a mean value n-Gain skills classes concluded for the control and experimental respectively 0.35 and 0.71. While the average value of n-Gain mastery of concepts for the control and experimental classes, respectively were 0.31 and 0.41. Based on hypothesis testing, concluded that class with LC 5E learning through skills and mastery of concepts infer higher than conventional classroom learning. This suggests that the LC 5E learning models is more effective in improving skills and mastery of concepts students conclude on  chemical equilibrium material. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui efektivitas model pembelajaran LC 5E dalam meningkatkan keterampilan menyimpulkan dan penguasaan konsep pada materi kesetimbangan kimia.  Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas XI IPA SMA Negeri I Natar semester ganjil Tahun 2012-2013 dengan kelas XI IPA 4 dan XI IPA 5 sebagai sampel. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode  kuasi eksperimen dengan Non equivalent control group design. Efektivitas model penbelajaran LC 5E diukur berdasarkan peningkatan n-Gain yang signifikan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan rerata nilai n-Gain keterampilan menyimpulkan untuk kelas kontrol dan eksperimen masing-masing adalah 0,35 dan 0,71. Sedangkan  rerata nilai  n-Gain  penguasaan konsep untuk kelas kontrol dan eksperimen masing-masing adalah 0,31 dan 0,41. Berdasarkan pengujian hipotesis, disimpulkan bahwa kelas dengan pembelajaran melalui LC 5E  memiliki keterampilan menyimpulkan dan penguasaan konsep yang lebih tinggi dibandingkan kelas dengan pembelajaran konvensional.   Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa model pembelajaran LC 5E  lebih efektif dalam meningkatkan keterampilan menyimpulkan dan penguasaan konsep siswa pada materi kesetimbangan kimia.Kata kunci : keterampilan menyimpulkan, model learning cycle 5E, penguasaan konsep.

Abstract

This study aims to describe an effective instructional model in increasing students' interest  and concept’s mastery of class X in non-electrolyte and electrolyte solution material. The population are the class X of SMA Al Azhar 3 Bandar Lampung with X 8 as experiment class and X 7 as control. The design in this research is non equivalent control group design.The research’s results showed the mean of the index gain interest in the control and experimental classes respectively 0,26 and 0,54; and the mean index gain mastery of concepts for the control and experimental classes respectively 0,36 and 0,43. Based on hypothesis testing, it was concluded that learning through the class with Learning Cycle 5E has an interest and mastery of concepts that is higher than learning conventional class. This suggests that the learning material through  Learning Cycle 5E  is more effective in increasing students' interest and mastery of concepts.  Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan model pembelajaran yang efektif dalam meningkatkan minat dan penguasaan konsep siswa kelas X pada materi larutan non elektrolit dan elektrolit.  Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas X SMA Al Azhar 3 Bandar Lampung  dengan kelas X 8 sebagai kelas eksperimen dan X 7 sebagai kelas control. Abstract

This study aims to obtain an effective instructional model increase interest  and mastery of the concept of class XI science in chemical equilibrium material. The population in this study were all students of class XI Science SMAN 12 Bandar Lampung Year 2012-2013 semester with class XI IPA 4 as class Science and XI 5 as a sample. This research method is a quasi-experimental pretest posttest control group design. Learning effectiveness is measured by comparing the difference in value to the difference between pretest and posttest maximum value with the value of the pretest. The results showed the average value of the index gain interest in the control and experimental classes respectively 0,22 and 0,34; and the mean index gain mastery of concepts for the control and experimental classes respectively 0,33 and 0,55. Based on hypothesis testing, it was concluded that learning through the class with LC 3E has an interest and mastery of concepts that is higher than learning conventional class. This suggests that the learning material through chemical equilibrium LC 3E learning is more effective in increasing students' interest and mastery of concepts. Keywords: Learning Cycle 3E (LC3E), study interest, and mastery of concept

Abstract

This research aims to describe the effect of using student’s worksheet based on problem solving to improve student’s communication and collaboration skills. The method used quasi experiment with pretest posttest non-equivalent control group design. The sample were taken by clauster random sampling tehnique obtained by class X MIPA 4 as experimental class and X MIPA 6 as control class. The results show that student’s communication and collaboration skills on the experimental class were higher than on the control class. Therefore, it can be concluded that the use of student’s worksheet based on problem solving has given large effect to improve student’s communication and collaboration skills. Keywords: student’s worksheet based on problem solving, communication, collaborationPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan pengaruh LKS berbasis problem solving untuk meningkatkan keterampilan komunikasi dan kolaborasi siswa. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa keterampilan komunikasi dan kolaborasi siswa pada kelas eksperimen lebih tinggi dari pada kelas kontrol. Abstract

The aim of this research is to know effectiveness of problem solving learning model in enhancing inferring and communicating skill in colloid material. Populations were all 227 students of Grade XI science in YP Unila Senior High School in Bandar Lampung. The samples were 36 students in classroom XI science one and 39 students in classroom XI science two that have equal academic abilities. This was a quasi experiment research using non equivalent control group design. Effectiveness of learning with problem solving model was measured based on significant gain enhancement. The result showed that average values of N-gain of inferring skill in experiment and control classrooms were 0.59 and 0.47 respectively; and average values of N-gain for communicating skill in experiment and control classrooms were 0.56 and 0.47 respectively. The hypothesis result test showed that classroom that used problem solving learning model had higher skill in inferring and communicating than classroom with conventional learning model. This indicated that problem solvinglearning model was effective to enhance student’s inferring and communicating skill in colloid material.Keywords: Problem Solving, inferring and communicating skill

Abstract

This research was aimed to describe the effectiveness of discovery learning model to increase student’s originality thinking skills on acid-base subject matter. The population of this research was all students grade XI in science class of SMA Negeri 1 Pagelaran at second semester of academic year 2013-2014 with class of XI IPA 1 dan XI IPA 2 as sample. The method of the research was quasi experimental with Non Equivalent (Pretest-Postest) Control Group Design. The sample were taken by purposive sampling technique. The effectiveness of discovery learning model was showed by the significant difference of n-Gain between control and experiment class. The result showed that the average n-Gain score for control class and experiment class respectively 0,34 and 0,45. Based on hyphothesis testing using t-test it can be concluded that discovery learning model is effective to increase student’s originality thinking skills on acid-base subject matter.Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan efektivitas model discovery learning dalam meningkatkan keterampilan berpikir orisinil siswa pada materi asam-basa. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan nilai rata-rata n-Gain keterampilan berpikir orisinil siswa untuk kelas kontrol dan eksperimen masing-masing 0,34 dan 0,45. Berdasarkan pengujian hipotesis dengan menggunakan uji perbedaan dua rata-rata, maka disimpulkan bahwa pembelajaran menggunakan model Discovery Learning efektif dalam meningkatkan keterampilan berpikir orisinil siswa pada materi asam-basa.Kata kunci : keterampilan berpikir orisinil, materi asam basa, model discovery learning
