<![CDATA[Indonesian needs qualified teachers who mastered various kinds of skills, professional competence, science, and technology, able to state the best concept, idea, though, and behavioral attitude to the learner, and have the high work motivation. These teacher competencies would be the requirement in forming the gold generation of Indonesian. By the existence of human resources which is required, Indonesian are able to continue and move the construction sectors effectively and efficiently, and capable to compete in international market. In order to fulfill it the government released the law No. 14 year 2015 which is about teacher and lecturer who require the qualification and teacher competence, that is minimum Bachelor degree or Diploma degree and has the Educator certificate. The problem is whether the giving of certification program for teacher could improve the teacherâ??s performance. The aim of this research is to know whether there is a relationship between competency and teacher work motivation who has been certified by the Senior High School of Dwijendra which consists of 60 teachers as the sample. The sampling used purposive sampling technique. The research methodology used quantitative approach with the teacher competency test and the work motivation scale. Meanwhile, the technique of analysis data used product moment by Pearson. Based on the data analysis which gained correlation coefficient r= 0,75 with significance = 0.500 (p>0,05), it means there is a relationship between the teacher performance motivation which has been certified. The variable of the relation of teacher competency and the variable of work motivation are included in high category.Keywords: competency, certified teacher, work motivation. ABSTRAK           Bangsa Indonesia membutuhkan guru berkualitas yang menguasai berbagai jenis keterampilan, keahlian professional, ilmu pengetahuan dan teknologi, mampu menyampaikan gagasan, ide, pemikiran, dan sikap perilaku terbaik kepada peserta didik, dan memiliki motivasi kerja yang tinggi . Kompetensi guru seperti itu sebagai persyarat membentuk genersi emas bangsa Indonesia. Dengan adanya sumber daya manusia yang dipersyaratkan itulah bangsa Indonesia mampu melanjutkan dan menggerakkan sector-sektor pembangunan secara lebih efektif dan efisien serta mampu bersaing di pasar dunia. Untuk memenuhi harapan tersebut pemerintah mengeluarkan UU No 14 tahun 2005 tentang guru dan dosen yang mensyaratakan kualifikasi dan kompetensi guru, yaitu minimal Sarjana ( S1 ) atau diploma empat (D4) dan memiliki sertifikat pendidik.  Permasalahannya apakah program pemberian sertifikasi kepada guru tersebut mampu meningkatkan kinerja guru. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui apakah ada hubungan antara kompetensi dengan motivasi kerja guru yang sudah tersertifikasi. Penelitian ini menggunakan populasi seluruh guru yang sudah disertifikasi di Sekolah Menengah Atas  Dwijendra yang berjumlah 60 guru yang dipergunakan sebagai sampel. Pengambilan sampel menggunakan teknik purposive sampling. Metode penelitian menggunakan pendekatan Kuantitatif dengan alat ukur tes kompetensi  guru dan skala motivasi kerja. Sedangkan teknik analisis data menggunakan Product Moment dari Pearson. Berdasarkan hasil analisis data diperoleh koefisien korelasi r = 0,75 dengan signifikansi = 0.500 (p >0,05) yang berarti  ada hubungan antara kompetensi dengan motivasi kinerja guru yang sudah teisertifikasi.
