AbstractThis study aims to analyze the influence of contextual aproaches to the student’s learning outcames and to analyze the magnitude influence of contextual aproaches to the student’s learning outcames to thematic learning of third grade students of Elementary School 39 Pontianak Kota. The research method used is an experiment with a quasi experimental design with nonequivalent control group design. The population in this study are all third grade students of Elementary School 39 Pontianak Kota consists of 98 students. Sampling using techniques purposive sampling and there are 64 students the sample in this study. Data collection techniques use measurement techniques. Instruments used written test objective. Based on the calculation obtained by mean of learning result of post-test control class 57,42 and average result of post-test experiment class 70,67 so obtained tcount of post-test data equal to 3,04429  with ttable for signification level α = 5 % and dk = 62 for 1.99934, because tcount (3,04429)> ttable (1.99934) then Ha is accepted. Thus, there is a significant influence of using contextual aproaches on the student’s learning outcames to thematic learning of third grade students of Elementary School 39 Pontianak Kota. From the calculated effect size (ES) is obtained at 0.54 (medium criteria).
