AbstractThe title of this research was "Development of Manners Characters of Students in MAN 1Mempawah". The general problem of this research was how to develop the character of students' decorum in MAN 1 Mempawah, with sub-problems (1) How do teachers provide knowledge of character education in manners (2) What were the forms of student implementation in developing manners characters (3) How to habituate the character of student manners. This study aims to find out the development of the character of student manners, especially knowledge of manners character, in the form of the implementation of students in the development of character of manners and the habituation of the character education of students' manners. The type of research used was qualitative with descriptive analysis method. The data collection tool uses observation guides, interview guides, and documentation. The results of the study show that (1) the teacher provides knowledge of character education in good decorum. This is evident in every teaching and learning activity the teacher always offends or gives character to manners. For example on integration in subjects. (2) The form of student implementation in the development of manners of character runs well. This is evident with students having implemented or applied the character knowledge that the teacher's board gave them. Examples of students implementing it in three stages, namely learning activities or integration in subjects, integration in self development programs and development of school culture. (3) Habitual character of student manners is as expected. This is evidenced by students who are accustomed to saying and behaving politely, can make other people feel valued and respected, not arrogant to others. Example of habituating students' manners through five activities namely conditioning, routine activities, spontaneity, exemplary activities, and program activities.
