Abstract

This research was conducted with the aim of knowing the effectiveness of the application of Distance Learning (PJJ) in improving the cognitive abilities of children aged 5-6 years. This distance learning is carried out by the teacher providing learning through electronic media, namely Hand Phones (HP), videos and pictures that are conveyed to parents and then the parents teach them to their children. In this study, the method used is a qualitative descriptive method in which the researcher tries to describe the symptoms or circumstances that exist, namely the situation according to what it was when the research was conducted. The subjects of this study were the 5-6 years age group in family planning. Pelangi Ummul Baneen, Cimahi city. This research was conducted in each house around the KB. Pelangi UmmulBaneen is in Cibabat village, Cimahi City. The technique of collecting data was carried out through interviews, observation and documentation while the data analysis was carried out qualitative. The results showed that the effectiveness of the application of Distance Learning in improving children's cognitive depends on the role of teachers and parents at home as well as the selection of topics and the way of delivery of learning that makes children aged 5-6 years happy to get this Distance Learning.Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan tujuan mengetahui efektifitas penerapan Pembelajaran Jarak Jauh (PJJ) dalam meningkatkan kemampuan kognitif anak usia 5-6 tahun. Pembelajaran jarakjauh ini dilakukan dengan cara guru memberikan pembelajaran melalui media elektronik yaitu Hand Phone (HP), video dan gambar yang disampaikan kepada orang tua lalukemudian orang tua mengajarkannya kepada anak-anak mereka. Pada penelitian ini metodeyang digunakan adalah metode  kualitatif dimana peneliti berusaha mendeskripsikan gejalaatau keadaan yang ada, yaitu keadaan menurut apa adanya pada saat penelitian dilakukan. Adapun subyek penelitian ini adalah kelompok usia 5-6 tahun di KB. Pelangi Ummul Baneenkota Cimahi. Penelitian ini dilakukan di rumah masing - masing yang berada disekitar KB. Pelangi Ummul Baneen yaitu di kelurahan Cibabat, Kota Cimahi. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui wawancara, observasi dan dokumentasi foto sedangkan analisis data yang digunakan adalah analisis kualitatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa efektifitaspenerapan Pembelajaran Jarak Jauh dalam meningkatkan kognitif anak tergantung dari peranguru dan orang tua di rumah serta pemilihan topik serta cara penyampaian pembelajaran yang membuat anak usia 5-6 tahun senang mendapatkan Pembelajaran Jarak Jauh tersebut.
