Abstract

The purpose of this classroom action research is to determine the extent to which the Google Classroom application is able to improve the learning outcomes of Class VIII b students in Citizenship Education (PKn) Subjects on Youth Pledge Material in the frame of diversity of unity at SMP Negeri 34 Semarang in the even semester of the school year. 2020/202. This research was conducted in 2 cycles. The subjects of this study were class VIII B in the second semester at SMP Negeri 34 Semarang in the 2020/2021 school year with a total of 31 students. The data analysis technique used was qualitative descriptive analysis and continued reflection. The results showed that: Based on the discussion and research results, it can be concluded that the application of the google classroom application in online learning cycle II has shown maximum results. The learning outcomes obtained were better than during the implementation of PKn learning activities in cycle I. Problem discovery in action, namely problems from teachers and students, can be anticipated. There are problems that arise from students whose participation is low, because they are constrained by the internet network. The results obtained by all students showed that the final ability was better than the initial ability before the action by showing the results of observations on the activeness of students in participating in learning activities through the google classroom application. From the results of the implementation of learning improvement and reflection in cycle II, it can be concluded that the implementation of learning actions through google classroom to improve student learning outcomes in participating in PKN learning activities can be ended in cycle II with satisfactory results with students experiencing completeness as a whole.
