<![CDATA[Islam is a civilization religion. He is as blessing for all natural content particularly to human being, both men and women. In history, however, women are considered to be second best human being after men so that in reality blessing is not in favour of them. There is internal issue in the relationship between women and men in context of gender, causing the women oftentimes experience injustice or unfair treatment. One of the causes of injustice against women is distortion in understanding al-Qurâan verses, especially those corresponding to relationship between men and women. Nasaruddin Umar states the distortion of understanding is caused
by unaccommodated interpreting methodologies. In fact, interpreting method trend of tahlili or tajziâi, ijmali and muqoron, tend to result gender bias interpretation. Reconstructing method in reading al-Qurâan becomes vital requirement in this time in order to fight injustice of such gender relationship. Interpretation method based on gender justice is expostulated. Moreover, hermeneutics becomes specific choice especially to all feminist interpreters to break through the practices of gender injustice due to inaccurate understanding of Islamic teaching which actually emphasizes on egalitarian principle.
