Abstract

AbstractThis study aims to determine the application of group guidance methods in increasing self-efficacy and student learning outcomes. The subjects in this study were 38 junior high school students of SMP Negeri 2 Pesawaran, in Lampung Province who were selected using purposive sampling technique. The research instrument used in the form of tests and non-tests. The test instrument is used to measure student learning outcomes, while the non-test instrument is used to measure student self-efficacy. The test instrument includes material on the Two Variable Linear Equation System (SPLDV) which is material for VIII grade junior high school students. On the other hand, the questionnaire as a non-test instrument is prepared based on indicators that refer to Brown's Theory. Before being used in research, these two instruments have been tested for validity and reliability so that they are feasible to be given to research subjects. Based on the results of the research and discussion, it can be concluded that the application of the group guidance method can increase students' self-efficacy. This increase is also reinforced by the results of comparatin test of two averages which state that there is a significant increase in student self-efficacy. In addition, statistical tests also showed a significant increase in student learning outcomes after receiving learning using the group guidance method. Keywords: group guidance, mathematics, self-efficacy.
