Abstract

Abstract: Since the first case of Coronavirus Disease (COVID-19) in Indonesia on March 2020, face-to-face learning process has been diverted to online learning to prevent the spread of the virus in the school environments. One of the online learning media at 1 Public High School Lhokseumawe is using Google Classroom and Video Conferencing Google Meet. But there has been no research yet on the most ideal media used between the two media to improve student learning outcomes. The purpose of the study was to find out the comparison of geography learning outcomes using Google Classroom and Google Meet in students of class X 1 Public High School Lhokseumawe. The research uses a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental type of research. The population in this study was all students of class 1 Public High School Lhokseumawe, sampling using purposive sampling techniques, taken two research classes namely class X IIS 1 As many as 17 learners and class X IIS 6 as many as 17 learners. Data analysis techniques in the form of initial ability analysis, normality test, homogeneity test, and hypothesis test. The data was processed using the U Mann-Whitney hypothesis test formula because the distribution is abnormal but homogeneous. Based on hypothesis testing shows that < so accepted. Thus, it can be concluded that there is a difference in learning outcomes between learners who are treated with Google Meet and Google Classroom, with the average grade of classes given google meet treatment being higher than the class given Google Classroom treatment. Keywords: geography learning outcomes, Google Classroom, Video Conferencing Google Meet
