Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan mendeskripsikan (1) penggunaan alat peraga wayang tantri dapat menjadikan pelajaran mendongeng menarik bagi siswa kelas VII SMP Negeri 1 Sukawati dan; (2) daya tarik penggunaan alat peraga wayang tantri dalam pelajaran dongeng kelas VII SMP Negeri 1 Sukawati. Penelitian ini menggunakan ancangan penelitian tindakan kelas (PTK), dengan subjek penelitian siswa kelas VII. Objek penelitian ini adalah langkah-langkah pengunaan wayang tantri, kemampuan siswa mendongeng, serta respons siswa terhadap penggunaan alat peraga wayang tantri dalam pelajaran mendongeng. Data dikumpulkan dengan metode observasi, dokumentasi, dan wawancara. Data dianalisis menggunakan teknik analisis deskriptif kualitatif. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan (1) penggunaan alat peraga wayang tantri dapat menjadikan pelajaran mendongeng menarik bagi siswa kelas VII SMP Negeri 1 Sukawati, sehingga siswa lebih kreatif dan termotivasi dalam mendongeng. (2) Daya tarik pembelajaran ini, ketika memainkan wayang tantri karena mereka dapat belajar secara berkelompok sambil bermain.Kata Kunci : mendongeng, alat peraga, wayang tantri This recent study aimed to describe (1) the use of tantric puppet as visual aid for making story telling class interesting in 7th grade of SMP Negeri 1 Sukawati, and (2) the attraction of tantri puppet as visual aid in story telling class in 7th grade of SMP Negeri 1 Sukawati. It used the action research framework (PTK) in which the research involved the seven graders in SMP Negeri 1 Sukawati. The research objects were the steps of using tantri puppet as visual aid, the students story telling ability, and the students responses toward the use of tantri puppet as visual aid in story telling class. The data were collected through observation, dokumentation, and interview theniques. The data analysis used the descriptive analysis technique. The result revealed (1) the tantri puppet as visual aid was interesting for seven graders in SMP Negeri 1 Sukawati and it made them more creative and motivating in telling stories, and (2) the attraction of playing this technique in the story yelling class were from their ways in learning through playing it in group works.keyword : storytelling, visual aid, puppet tantric
