Abstract

Anesthesia for Brain Avm Resection Management of anesthesia in arteriovenous malformation (AVM) presents a great challenge due to the complexity of understanding and pathophysiology that has not been clearly understood. Progress diagnostic tools such as CT scan or MRI will increase the incidence of AVM discovery in our society. Although the technology is more advanced surgery but morbidity and mortality in patients with AVM remains high. Management therapy of AVM patients is highly dependent on the size of the diameter of the AVM and its location. Anesthetic management includes preoperative preparation, smooth induction, cardiovascular stability, choosing of drugs and fluids intraoperative and postoperative care. Management of anesthesia for the AVM to be undergoing stereotactic surgery and diagnostic radiosurgey have different consequences in anesthetic management. Understanding postoperative management during the ICU is also a challenge.
