This research use classroom action research. Implemented in 3 cycles, each cycle comprises four phases namely (a) planning, (b) action, (c) observing, and (d) reflection. The results show that using video mediaactivity have increase students skill on writing essay description. The average percentage of students in the first cycle activity of 59,88%, 72,22% second cycle, andthird cycle of 87,65%. Recapitulation increased counted, (1) from cycle I to cycle II is increased by 12,34%, (2) from cycle II to cycle III is increased by 15,43%. While the value of the performance teachers in the first cycle 69,73, 76,76 for the second cycleand third cycle 92,97. Recapitulation increased counted, (1) from cycle I to cycle II is increased by 7,03, (2) from cycle II to cycle III is increased by 16.21. Similarly, theaverage grade of students on essay writing skill descriptions cycle is 64,15, 69,70 forthe second cycle and third cycle is 76,40. Recapitulation increased counted, (1) fromcycle I to cycle II is increased by 5,55, (2) from the second cycle to third cycleincreased by 6,7.Keywords: activity, video media,writing skill
