<![CDATA[General Election (Election) is one of the means of realizing a democratic state. The general election aims a manifestation the aspirations of the people in the political process and the people have the right to determine the figure and direction of the state leadership. One of the characteristics of a democratic country is the holding of elections on a scheduled and periodic basis. If elections are not held, then the democratic nature of a country will be lost. Likewise, the nature of the democratic state can be guaranteed by the existence of elections, so the implementation of elections must be carried out in a quality manner. Article 245 and Article 246 paragraph (2) of Law Number 7 of 2017 concerning General Elections stipulates that the representation of women in nominations is at least 30 percent of the list and at least 1 of the 3 names of prospective candidates must be female. The Law on the Government of Aceh also mandates Article 4 (d) of Aceh Qanun Number 3 of 2008 to pay attention to women's representation of at least 30 percent. However, in reality, the representation of women is only to fulfill the quota for women's representation so that they can become election participants.Keywords: Women's Quota; List of Legislative Candidates; Legal Counseling Abstrak: Pemilihan Umum (Pemilu) adalah salah satu sarana dalam mewujudkan Negara demokratis. Pemilihan umum bertujuan sebagai perwujudan aspirasi rakyat dalam proses politik dan rakyat berhak menentukan figure serta arah kepemimpinan negara. Salah satu ciri negara demokrasi adalah diselenggarakanya Pemilu secara terjadwal dan berkala. Apabila tidak terselenggaranya pemilu maka hilanglah sifat demokrasi dari suatu negara. Demikian pula sifat negara demokratis tersebut dapat terjamin oleh adanya pemilu, maka penyelenggaraan pemilu harus dilaksanakan secara berkualitas. Pasal 245 dan Pasal 246 ayat (2) Undang-Undang Nomor 7 Tahun 2017 tentang Pemilihan Umum mengatur bahwa keterwakilan perempuan dalam pencalonan minimal 30 persen dari daftar dan minimal 1 dari 3 nama bakal calon harus perempuan. Undang-Undang Pemerintahan Aceh juga memandatkan dalam Pasal 4 (d) Qanun Aceh Nomor 3 Tahun 2008 untuk memperhatikan keterwakilan perempuan minimal 30 persen.
