<![CDATA[The mechanism of genetic changes that occur due to interactions with the environment in biology is known as epigenetics. Epigenetics has a role in learning and memory formation and storage. This study aims to determine how big the contribution of epigenetics as an independent canonical variable to the higher order thinking skills and spiritual intelligence of education biology students. This type of research is a correlational multivariate with a quantitative approach. The research sample was taken by using stratified random sampling technique. The data collection instrument used a selected response test instrument to measure higher order thinking skills and a questionnaire instrument to obtain epigenetic data and students' spiritual intelligence. The data analysis technique used canonical multivariate analysis with the help of SPSS software. The results of the analysis of interpretation of canonical weights, canonical loads and canonical cross-loads show that nature and nurture (epigenetics) are variables that both contribute and correlate to the canonical dependent variable (HOTs and student spiritual intelligence).]]>
