Abstract

Benda uji kuat tekan silinder diameter 15 cm, tinggi 30 cm sedangkan benda uji penetrasi ion klorida silinder diameter 10 cm, tinggi 5 cm. Hasil pengujian kuat tekan menunjukkan semakin halus fly ash maka menghasilkan kuat tekan yang setara dengan kuat tekan beton acuan dan semakin halus butiran fly ash maka ketahanan penetrasi ion klorida dapat mencapai level sangat rendah. Kata kunci: beton mutu tinggi, high volume fly ash, kuat tekan beton, rapid chloride penetration test.   Abstract High strenght concrete requires special materials such as fly ash to improve concrete properties. This study was intended to determine the effect of fly ash fineness on chloride ion penetration of high-volume fly ash concrete. The mix proportion employed fly ash content of 50% by cement weight as a cement substitution with variations in fineness i.e.: passing through mesh sizes of 200 and 400. The testing program consists of compressive strength development of concrete at the age of 28 and 56 days and chloride ion penetration test using Rapid Chloride Penetration Test (RCPT) method at the age of 56 days. The cylindrical compressive strength test specimen has a diameter of 15 cm, and a height of 30 cm, while the cylindrical concrete specimen with a diameter of 10 cm and height of 5 cm was used for chloride ion penetration test. The compressive strength test results show that the finer the fly ash the higher the compressive strength for all test ages. In addition, the finer the fly ash leads to the denser the concrete, as shown by very low chloride ion penetration resistance levels. Keywords: high strength concrete, high volume fly ash, compressive strength, rapid chloride penetration test.
