<![CDATA[This study aims to determine whether there is an effect of capital on the income of basic food traders in the Alok Maumere market. This research is an ex-post facto research with a quantitative approach. The population in this study were all basic food traders who had a stall in the Alok Maumere market which consisted of 122 traders, while the sample was 93 traders. The collection of samples in this study using probability sampling technique using the Slovin formula. Data collection techniques for capital variables and income variables using a questionnaire. The questionnaire uses a Likert five scale by providing five alternative answers, and the results of the questionnaire are tested for validity and reliability. Data analysis was carried out using analysis prerequisite test techniques which included normality test, homogeneity test, and linearity test and after that used descriptive analysis, and inferential statistical analysis which included hypothesis testing, simple regression analysis test and coefficient of determination test with the help of SPSS version 22.0 program. The results of this study indicate that capital has a positive effect on the income of traders, it means that if the capital used by traders is greater then traders can increase their merchandise so that the income obtained will also be greater.]]>
