Background this research is science learning in elementary school still use teacher center consequently the result of the study is still low. This research aimed to describe improving the student achievement in science learing by using strategy Problem Based Learning at grade IV SD N 19 Nanggalo Padang. Kind of this research is an action research with quantitative and qualitative approach. The result of this research showed that, the student achievement in cycle I was 73,83 and this increased to 82,15 in cycle II. From the result it can be concluded that strategy Problem Based Learning increase the students learning achievement in science learing at grade IV SD N 19 Nanggalo Padang.
