This study aims to determine the absorption of foreign words contained in the short story "Night Takbir" by Hamsad Rangkuti. In addition to knowing the origin of language and the classification of the type he said. The method used is descriptive analytic method is a way to describe an analysis. From the results of research by the author, it can be concluded that in the short story "Night Takbir" by Hamsad Rangkuti obtained absorption of foreign words derived from Arabic, Dutch, Javanese-Ancient Sanskrit, English, Chinese, Malay, and Portuguese.Keyword: Analyze, absorption of foreign words, short stories, language of origin, the type of word.
