Abstract

This research was conducted with the aim of knowing, explaining and analyzing the application of the learning method of field observation (outdoor study) in Islamic Accounting courses aimed at Economics Education students at STKIP PGRI Bandar Lampung by directly observing the operational processes of Islamic banking and Islamic financial institutions in the city. Bandar Lampung. The research sample was all 4th semester Economics Education students who took the Islamic Accounting course with purposive sampling. The research data is in the form of quantitative and qualitative data. The results of the study show that students' understanding process skills have increased with the observation method that goes directly to the field observing the operational processes of Islamic financial institutions. Student learning activities have increased because with the observation method students feel they can add knowledge and direct experience in the field. And many students gave positive responses to the application of the observation method. Thus, the application of the observation method has a significant effect in improving the process of understanding students and student learning activities on the subject matter of Islamic Accounting.
