<![CDATA[Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui dan mendeskripsikan kemampuan representasi matematis siswa SMP dalam menyelesaikan soal non-rutin materi segiempat. Subjek penelitian ini yaitu siswa SMP yang berjumlah 5 orang. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini yaitu metode penelitian deskriptif dengan pendekatan kualitatif. Instrumen yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini yaitu berupa instrumen tes dan wawancara. Soal tes yang diberikan berupa soal tes non-rutin dengan materi segiempat yang mengarah pada indikator representasi matematis yang berjumlah 3 soal esai. Wawancara yang digunakan pada penelitian ini merupakan wawancara semi terstuktur. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan pada penelitian terdiri dari reduksi data, penyajian data, dan penarikan kesimpulan. Hasil dari penelitian ini secara keseluruhan yaitu representasi matematis yang dikuasai siswa saat menyelesaikan soal adalah representasi visual. Hampir semua siswa dapat mendeskripsikan masalah tersebut. Sedangkan representasi yang paling sedikit dikuasai siswa adalah representasi kata Beberapa siswa tidak dapat menuliskan yang diketahui dari soal dan menyimpulkan hasil jawaban. Sehingga representasi kata masih tergolong rendah.Kata kunci: Representasi Matematis, Non-Rutin, Segiempat MATHEMATICAL REPRESENTATIONS ON NON-ROUTINE RECTANGULAR PROBLEMS ABSTRACTThis study aims to determine and describe the mathematical representation abilities of junior high school students in solving non-routine questions on rectangular material. The subjects of this study were 5 junior high school students. The method used is descriptive qualitative approach. The instruments used in this research are tests and interviews. The test questions given are in the form of non-routine test questions with rectangular material that leads to indicators of mathematical representation, totaling 3 essay questions. The interview used in this study was a semi-structured interview. Data analysis techniques used in this study consisted of data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results of this study as a whole, namely the mathematical representation that is mastered by students when solving problems is a visual representation. Almost all students can describe the problem. While the representation that is least mastered by students is word representation. Some students cannot write down what is known from the questions and conclude the results of the answers.
