The purpose of this study is to determine the role of guidance and counseling teachers in developing students' talents and interests and focus on how supporting and inhibiting factors are carried out by guidance and counseling teachers. The method used is qualitative research method, with a descriptive case study strategy. This is done to answer the problem formulation questions comprehensively regarding how guidance and counseling interventions as the development of interests and talents at SMA AN-NIZAM Medan. Data collection was carried out using interviews, observations and documentation studies. Data analysis is carried out through editing, coding, classification and drawing conclusions. The results of this study show that guidance and counseling teachers play a role in developing students' interests and talents through large class services, extracurricular selection services and providing interest questionnaires.
