ABSTRAK Diare merupakan penyakit berbasis lingkungan dengan penyebab kematian tertinggi, sehingga hal ini dianggap sebagai masalah kesehatan. Penyebab diare dikarenakan infeksi mikroorganisme seperti bakteri, virus dan parasit. Secara global, sebagian besar produk makanan dan air terkontaminasi, 780 juta orang tidak memiliki akses terhadap air minum yang layak dan 2,5 miliar kekurangan akses terhadap sanitasi yang lebih baik. Tingkat risiko diare 7,37 kali lebih besar pada kelompok dengan sumber air bersih tercemar dan peralatan makanan yang kurang bersih. Beberapa faktor yang secara langsung maupun tidak langsung mempengaruhi terjadinya penyakit diare khususnya komponen sarana sanitasi di pemukiman yaitu jamban keluarga dan pembuangan limbah sangat berhubungan dengan terjadinya penyakit berbasis lingkungan. Kegiatan pengabdian menjadi salah satu upaya pencegahan penyakit diare akibat infeksi mikroorganisme berupa edukasi sanitasi lingkungan kepada masyarakat Desa Gamlamo, Kec. Jailolo, Kab. Halmahera Barat. Edukasi yang berisi pemahaman tentang penyakit infeksi, diare, penyebab diare, dan mencegah penyakit infeksi. Kegiatan ini dihadiri oleh 24 warga Desa Gamlamo. Hasil yang didapatkan dari kegiatan ini, masyarakat dapat memahami penjelasan dan antusias dalam menanggapi sesi diskusi demi keberlangsungan hidup masyarakat Desa Gamlamo yang nyaman dan bersih. Dari kegiatan perlu adanya perlakuan berupa pemantauan langsung terhadap masyarakat dan menghimbau agar masyarakat dapat menerapkan bentuk sanitasi berbasis masyarakat yang telah disampaikan, demi memberikan keberlangsungan hidup yang nyaman dan sehat.
