Abstract

The problem in this research was how the increasing in reading poetry of student through theater basic training. The purpose of this study was to describe the increasing in reading poetry of students through theater basic training. The method used in this research was classroom action research. The results showed an increase in lesson plan (RPP) through basic training in theater, namely from the first cycle was enough categories, second cycle was good and third cycle was good categories.Masalah dalam penelitian ini adalah bagaimanakah peningkatan membaca puisi siswa melalui pelatihan dasar teater. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah mendeskripsikan peningkatan membaca puisi siswa melalui pelatihan dasar teater. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah penelitian tindakan kelas. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya peningkatan rencana pelaksanaan pembelajaran (RPP) melalui pelatihan dasar teater yaitu dari siklus I kategori cukup, siklus II kategori baik, dan siklus III kategori baik sekali.Kata kunci: kemampuan membaca, pelatihan dasar teater, teks puisi.
