Abstract

Kata Kunci : Buerger Allen Exercise, ABI (Ankle Brachial Indeks), Diabetes Mellitus Tipe II ABSTRACTBackground : One of the nursing problems in Diabetes Mellitus patients that can result from impaired peripheral blood vessel flow to the legs is the ineffectiveness of peripheral tissue perfusion. One of the efforts to determine the presence of peripheral vascular disorders is to perform an Ankle Brachial Index (ABI) examination. The problem in this study is that there are still many type II Diabetes Mellitus patients who have low ABI (Ankle Brachial Index) values. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of Buerger Allen Exercise on the ABI (Ankle Brachial Index) in Type II Diabetes Mellitus Patients in Siti Aisyah Hospital, Lubuk Linggau City. Methods : The design of this study used a pre experimental design using a pre and post test design. The population in this study amounted to 131 people with a sample of 10 people using purposive sampling technique. The data used is primary data which is measured directly using Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) as well as tension meter and Doppler. The analysis used is univariate analysis and bivariate analysis, the statistical test used is the T test. Results :  The results of the study the average ABI value of the respondents before was 0.67 and the average ABI value after the Buerger Allen exercise was 0.85. The results of bivariate analysis, obtained p value is 0.000.Conclusion : It was concluded that there was an effect of Buerger Allen Exercise on ABI (Ankle Brachial Index) values in Type II Diabetes Mellitus Patients in Siti Aisyah Hospital, Lubuk Linggau City. It is recommended that the results of this study can be used as a reference in making standard operating procedures (SOPs) and making a routine schedule of Buerger Allen exercise activities in hospitals for diabetes mellitus patients. Keywords: Buerger Allen Exercise, ABI (Ankle Brachial Index), Diabetes Mellitus Type II
