Studying the history of Islamic culture cannot be separated from the teacher's role in transferring effective learning. The characteristics of SKI learning, most of which emphasize the ability to understand events that must be read and memorized, especially those used in the learning process using Arabic, so that problems arise, namely students' difficulty in learning. The purpose of this research is to find out the role of teacher pedagogical competence in overcoming SKI learning difficulties. The research was conducted at MTS Al-Irsyad 7 Batu City, where the subjects studied were class VIII students. The research uses descriptive qualitative research. The data was carried out using observation techniques by directly observing learning activities at school, then conducting interviews with SKI teachers and class VIII students, and documentation. The results are 1) The competence of teachers who teach Islamic Cultural History is quite good, consisting of various abilities: (a) understanding students (b) designing learning (c) teaching dialogically, and educating (d) evaluating (e) developing students. 2) Learning difficulties which include (a) learning using Arabic (b) lack of time in the learning process (c) Differences in student capabilities. 3) Solutions to resolve learning difficulties by (a) Providing a special approach to students who have learning difficulties (b) using drill and lecture methods
