<![CDATA[This research aims to describe the improvement of initial reading skills through the institutional word game method in Class 1 students at SD Negeri 3 Ceper.This research is Classroom Action Research (PTK) with the Kemmis and Mc model. Taggart, with a cycle model consisting of stages: planning, action, observation, and reflection. Data collection techniques use tests, observations and interviews. The data analysis technique used is quantitative descriptive and qualitative descriptive data analysis. Based on the research results, the following research results were obtained; In cycle I, students' reading skills increased from the pre-action results, the average score was 65, increasing to 70, and 52% of students achieved the KKM. In cycle II the average score increased to 78 and 72% of students had achieved the KKM. Cycle III average score was 84, completion score reached 92%. Based on the discussion of the research results, the researchers concluded that the institutional word method can improve beginning reading skills.]]>
